    Synopsis

Enjoy the thrills of Fallout 3 along with five game add-on packs with this Game of the Year Edition. In the 200 years since the global atomic war of 2077, the surviving residents of the Capital Wasteland (formerly known as Washington, D.C.) have holed up in Vault 101, enjoying a life free from the dangers beyond. In the Vault, you are protected from the Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers and Super Mutants that prowl the Capital Wasteland. But now your father has defied the Overseer and left the Vault for reasons you don't know. You must find him and discover the truth before it is too late.

Fallout 3 immerses you in an environment where the great monuments of the United States lie in ruin and danger lurks around every corner, and this special Game of the Year Edition brings the post-nuclear world even more vividly to life with the addition of all five game add-on packs. Super-deluxe HD graphics render the Wasteland in eye-popping detail, from the danger-filled offices and Metro tunnels of D.C. to the rotten flesh of a mutant's face. Choose from dozens of unique skills and perks to customize your character. Experience the post-apocalyptic world from either a 1st-person or 3rd-person perspective with the touch of a button. Inflict death and destruction through the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System, which allows you to pause time in combat, aim for specific body parts on your target and queue up attacks. In Fallout 3, you make the decisions that define you and that change the world. Continue the adventure in the five included add-on packs, including Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta.

Excellent and Amazing Experience So Far

I just started playing this game, but I can honestly say it is one of the best, and it totally deserved the "Game of the Year" Recognition. It's really clever how you get to personalize your character's race & physical appearance, primary attributes, and Skills. I must say the Pip-Boy 3000 is one of the best and useful tool in video games, you will understand me when you use it. Also, the V.A.T.S is one of the many things I love about this game. It's basically like "bullet time" without the whole timer thing, it pauses everything and let's you choose the body parts of the enemy without having to worry about time limit, and also gives you the probabilities of actually hitting the target you choose, as well as providing you with info of the vulnerability each limb has. It's farely complicated when you start but you'll get used to it pretty fast. Now, the open world it's still amazing. You can really see the damage of the nuclear war that happend, as well as the aftermath of it, like humans affected by the radiation, mutants, unpropirtional animals, etc. I can't help feeling like Mad Max (from "The Road Warrior") when I walk across the Wasteland, even in one of the first supply shop you run into you can buy an outfit that really (and I mean REALLY) resembles the outfit Mel Gibson wears in the movie, and it even goes to the point where you can actually buy a short shotgun in the store, but I heard that further in the game you can have a dog as a companion. So, you only need a car, and it's the perfect Mad Max game, but sadly, there is none. Post-apocalyptic wasteland, remember? And I also like that you have to be resourceful with ammo, money, and health. So I often find myself getting inside buildings in search for supplies that I may need, and if I don't, I just can resell them to get a couple of bottle caps, which is the currency. You also have the option of playing First-person or Third-person, and change between them extremely easy (just press LB). The graphics may be just a little bit out-dated compared to current games, but it still doesn't keep it from being an awesome experience. If you like open world games with tons of things to do as well as amazing views, RPGs, and shooters, then this is the game for you.

About 10 years ago, Fallout 3 was my introduction to the series; and while some of the combat mechanics, and animations don't hold up that well today, the overall atmosphere, story, characters, and RPG elements are still amongst the best I've experienced. I decided to pick this up again, to check out the backwards compatibility capabilities of the XB One X, and it exceeded my expectations. So far, even though it's only being emulated, FO3 runs surprisingly better than it did on the 360, with some upscaled textures, 4k res, and a more solid frame rate... I would really like Bethesda to release a full "remaster" of this classic, to improve the gunplay/combat mechanics and polish it up a bit more; but what Microsoft was able to do with emulation on the One X, makes for an excellent stand-in for those who want to revisit the Capital Wasteland.

All in all fallout 3 is an amazing game, great music, game play, and story. The one problem is that it suffers from being too old. This is not a problem if this is your first Fallout game however. Being that my first Fallout game was Fallout 4 and then I played new Vegas, you can see why I say that. I have been spoiled by the features that are missing from these games and wish I would've played then in chronological order. I would give this a 4.5 star but it does fall short because of my already extremely high expectations of the Fallout series since I played the games backwards. This whole review does not apply if this is your first game in the Fallout series. This is also not a negative review, just a very honest one.

If you like games such as FarCry, Red Dead Redemption, and Dead Island, you will probably like Fallout 3. This game allows for more character development than the other games mentioned, but there may also be things that your character can never do if you don't put enough skill points into the particular skill. You can be good or evil, but I don't know if an evil character could finish the game first time through. I also don't think that I have run into any characters, friend or foe, that I couldn't kill if I wanted to. You have a lot of freedom to go wherever you want and do whatever you want once you get out of the prologue to the game.

Fallout 3 is one of my all time favorite games! I spent over 100 hours on my first playthrough, with no expansion material. And the expansion material, all included in the Game of the Year Edition, just add more greatness! I first played through on PS3, but bought this version once it was backwards compatible for XB1. Only downside to the 360 version is the disc swapping for extra content, but I'd say that offsets the inconvenience of some of the bugs in the PS3 version, and the extra cost of buying the game plus bonus content digitally. If you have an XB1 or 360, and haven't played this, BUY IT!

First of all, Bethesda made from Morrowind(2003) and Oblivion(2006) the games of the year. As well as in Fallout 3(2008) let me tell you why, the graphics, are but great, the length of the world is a bit smaller than in Oblivion, but the graphics explain it, the creatures and weapons are too creative, and the game never ends(sadly you must purchase broken still to continue after the ending.) Get your copy today and turn on your VATS Visor, its ghoul-headhots time!

Found this game in the bargain bin and decided to give it a shot. Having only played Fallout:New Vegas I figured it would be good to compare games. If you are an explorer/loot hoarder like I am this is really a neat game that you can easily put 75-100 hours into, what with exploring the entire map and getting all the game's achievements. If you are the kind of player that burns through the main story as fast as you can you probably will beat the main story within 20 hours. Very short storyline. Overall not a bad little game and plenty entertaining.

Be prepared to spend a lot of time on this one. Very well designed game, awesome graphics, awesome concept. It'll have you going for a very long time with all the different missions, each one of which is very creative and extremely well done. It does have a bit of profanity, and some of the graphics in the death scenes may be much for younger ones, but overall it is by far the best game I've ever played
