    Synopsis

    Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Amy Heckerling's adaptation of Cameron Crowe's Fast Times at Ridgemont High is often considered one of the finest films of a disreputable genre (the teen sex comedy), and kick-started the careers of many future stars. The center of this ensemble film is Jennifer Jason Leigh as Stacy Hamilton. She is a young, innocent high-school student who, as the film opens, is asking for advice from her friend, the sexually outspoken Linda Barrett (Phoebe Cates). Stacy takes a liking to nebbish Mark Ratner (Brian Backer), but he is too afraid to make a move even after Stacy all but throws herself at him. She eventually hooks up with Mark's more confident best friend, Mike Damone (Robert Romanus). When not concerning itself with these four characters, the film spends time with stoned surfer dude Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) and his ongoing feud with history teacher Mr. Hand (Ray Walston). The film includes brief appearances by such future stars as Nicolas Cage, Eric Stoltz, and Forest Whitaker. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

Being a child of the 80's myself, I can easily say that this movie captures the fun of what is was like to grow up then. I loved this movie when it came out and the lines in this movie became go to staples of our vocabulary. I miss the 80's so much and the craziness and freedom that came with the times, even though my times may not have been as "fast" it is the feeling that this movie captures that makes me wax nostalgic dude.

This was THE teen movie of the early 80's. Somehow I missed seeing it when it was initially released, and only recently rediscovered it. If you are a fan of the early 80's, get this. It's a great time capsule. If you grew up during that time, it will generate some good memories...it's also really funny.

I love the idea of paying $7.99 for a blue-ray (sometimes cheaper), and sometimes it's a bargain, meaning the picture quality is superb and I feel that it was a good bang for the buck, but not with this purchase. I will probably either donate this blue-ray or exchange it for a store credit someplace.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High is THE classic teen comedy. Sean Penn is hilarious as a high school stoner. Really good and believable performances all around. Blu-ray also contains some great extras including a Documentary featuring the cast as well as a director/writer commentary.

This movie is incredibly funny, and only partly because it's such a product of the 80's. There's Sean Penn at his granliest, Judge Reinhold at his nerdiest, and the unforgettable Phoebe Cates at her perkiest. Great movie, and in pristine high def. highly recommended.

This is a classic timeless comedy that all adults can enjoy. It centers around high school, but shows you what's going on outside of it. It also shows the relationships that revolve around the movie very well. If you like this one, try Dazed and Confused.

This movie is one of the classics that gave us numerous quotes such as "That was my skull! I'm so wasted!" and "Hey, Bud, let's party!", not to mention scenes that still remain some of the best of all time. A must for any video library.
