Q: Is there a slot to put CD's in?

A: It's a netbook. Netbooks do not have cd drives or dvd drives, thus the reason why they are so small and able to run for 8 hours without being plugged up to a wall outlet. No CD = less things sucking away precious battery life. If you need a cd / dvd drive you can pick up a USB drive for this unit. I also suggest you pick up a 8 gig or 16 gig flash drive and use the built in utilities to create a System Restore Flash Drive, before you get hit by a virus, etc. Tis the season.

Q: how much would it cost to upgrade the ram? Or is there anything to make it faster?

A: I contacted Bestbuy and spoke with Geek squad he told me the cost is $51 to upgrade to 2GB which is max upgrade and $30 to have them install it. Hope that helps
