Q: can this refrigerator be installed under a counter?
A: Hi Jane- GE® Compact Refrigerator GME04GGKBB is designed for free-standing installation only. Allow 2" air clearance on top and rear and 1/2" on each side. We suggest our GE® Compact Refrigerator GCE06GGHBB. Built-in or freestanding capability allows for flexible installation undercounter. Q: How cold does the refrigerator actually get?
A: undefined
Q: Which is the coldest setting 1 or 7
A: Hi Mama - 7 is the coldest setting. Thanks for choosing GE! Sue
A: No. And it won't keep it cold, anyway. Freezer part is very inadequate.
Q: How often does it need to be defrosted?
A: Hi Ginger - We recommend to defrost whenever frost on the wall of the ice tray compartment becomes 1/4” thick. The frequency will vary based on usage (door openings), room temperature, humidity, etc. See page 6 of the Owner's Manual for defrosting instructions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60750-1.pdf - Thanks for viewing GE! A: Hi Lee - This unit has a 0.47 cu. ft. freezer capacity for storing small frozen convenience items when in contact with the evaporator (cold surface in compartment.) It is not a true 0 degree freezer. This compartment does not have a separate temperature control. Keep in touch! Sue
