As an office fridge, it works great. But as a freezer, it is woefully inadequate. If you put four ice cube trays in, only the ones on the bottom of the freezer ever freeze. Wish I'd known before we bought it.
But, it is insanely quiet! A real plus in an office.
And we really only use it for drinks and lunches, so it works just fine, freezer or no freezer.
A:AnswerHi Jane- GE® Compact Refrigerator GME04GGKBB is designed for free-standing installation only. Allow 2" air clearance on top and rear and 1/2" on each side. We suggest our GE® Compact Refrigerator GCE06GGHBB. Built-in or freestanding capability allows for flexible installation undercounter. Built-in capable, requires standard countertop height for under counter installation. Air clearances on the top, back, and sides are not required. A:AnswerHi Ginger - We recommend to defrost whenever frost on the wall of the ice tray compartment becomes 1/4” thick. The frequency will vary based on usage (door openings), room temperature, humidity, etc. See page 6 of the Owner's Manual for defrosting instructions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60750-1.pdf - Thanks for viewing GE!
