Q: Does this model have a top broiler? Thanks

A: Hi MAGSTER- Thanks for viewing our GE® 30" Free-Standing Electric Range JB250DFBB with a lower storage drawer! Yes, the range features in-oven broiling. The Broil Hi-Lo pad gives you the capability of reducing the oven temperature during the broil function. Hi Broil: Functions at 550 degrees Fahrenheit. It gives a quicker broiling to sear in natural food juices. Lo Broil: Functions at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. It gives a slower broiling to ensure doneness without drying out the food. Thanks for checking with us. Enjoy! SUEatGEA

Q: I have a slide in coil that I am replacing - can I use this to replace my current slide in?

A: Hi Lilsis- GE® 30" Free-Standing Electric Range JB250GFSA is approximately 29 7/7" wide and can be installed in a 30" wide space. We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link for all product dimensions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=321567_jb250rf_gf_c2.pdf - Keep in touch! Q: I cook with cast iron pans. What electric stove do you recommend? Understand smooth top range scratch.

A: Buy the one with coils for cast iron or canning. This range is the one we just bought for that reason. This is a real nice range.

Q: What kind of cord do I need to buy for this stove and is there anything else besides it that I should get?

A: Hi Denville- We're glad to have you in the GE Appliances Family! You will need to purchase a UL Listed 40 AMP- 4-Wire or 3-Wire Cord 4’ long. Check with your local utilities for electrical codes which apply in your area. We encourage you to view the Installation Instructions at the following link for details: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-10816-2.pdf - If you need venting, check out our GE® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with Recirculating Venting JNM3161MFSA. Two-speed, 300-CFM venting system removes smoke, steam and odors. Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! SUE@GEA

Q: The large burner on the right front gets so hot that it scorched the burner bib below the coils. The range surface gets so hot you can get burnt by touching it. Is this normal?

A: I have owned two of these, the previous model (20 years) and now this new model for about three months, and neither of these two had the described problem. I would suggest that something in either the wiring hook-up or the CPU inside the control panel has an error and would get it looked at as soon as possible as what is described could lead to an injury or worse.

Q: Are the coils energy efficient/ temperature controlled?

A: Hi Dip- The range is not Energy Star Rated. Also, the burners are not temperature controlled. Choose settings from Lo to Hi. We suggest to view the following link- RANGE ENERGY SAVING TIPS WHEN USING SURFACE UNITS: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18974 - Keep in touch! Sue

Q: I just had my GE electric range installed. It is squeezed in between my cabinents and my refrigerator with no space in between. Will this be a problem?

A: Hi Mouse- A refrigerator/freezer may be installed next to a range/wall oven as long as air clearances for both appliances are met. The clearances are located in the installation instructions included with each appliance. Failure to adhere to the recommended clearances can void the warranty. You can view the Installation Instructions for the GE range at this link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-10816-2.pdf - Thanks for choosing GE. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA

Q: What is height and depth of just the box without the control panel or oven handle?

A: Hi Gracie- The height to cooking surface is approximately 35-3/4" to 36-1/2" (adjustable with leveling legs). The depth without handle is approximately 25 1/2". We suggest to view the Quick Specs at the following link for all product dimensions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=JB250RK_c2.pdf - You may want to pair with GE® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven JVM3160RFSS (Stainless/Black). Two-speed, 300-CFM venting system removes smoke, steam and odors. Thanks for considering GE! SUE@GEA
