Q: Is the slate color the same as the black stainless steel?

A: Hi-this is Sue from GE Appliances. We are excited to hear of your interest! Slate is a highly engineered, low-gloss matte metallic paint finish. It is not the same as black stainless steel. The slate finish will hold a magnet and resists fingerprints. To clean, wipe with a soft clean cloth using a mild household detergent then dry with a clean soft cloth. Thanks for checking with us!

Q: what is the maximum temperature for the top oven when used alone.

A: Hi Alicia- Thanks for viewing GE®! The temperature limits are 170F - 550F for both upper and lower ovens. No more shuffling dishes around or trying to figure out how long to cook a dish at a different temperature than recommended. The GE double oven cooks two dishes at different temperatures at the same time. Multi-tasking at its finest! If you need a vent system, check out our GE® 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKSS equipped with cooktop lighting and four-speed, 400-CFM venting fan system to quickly remove smoke, steam and odors from the cooktop to keep kitchen air fresh and clean. Keep in touch. With so many choices, we are always glad to help make your shopping experience a bit easier! SUEatGEA

Q: Do the racks slide out on rollers or are the 'grooved' into place? If they are the 'groove' kind, is it possible to have them on rollers?

A: Hi SirCookAlot- We are excited to hear of your interest! The oven is equipped with 3 Heavy-Duty Oven Racks (not roller racks). Roller racks (also called full-extension racks) can be purchased for use in many ranges. They glide in and out on ball bearings and may be used in any rack position in the upper or lower oven. Roller racks are either nickel or enamel coated, heavy-duty construction and are tested for weights up to 30 lbs. Enamel coated racks are self-clean racks (WB48X20862) and are darker. Nickel racks are a light, shiny metal and can't be self-cleaned (WB48T10071). You can order online at the following link: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/parts/search/ - Or call our GE Appliances Parts Team for assistance at 1-877-959-8688, Mon–Fri 8am–8pm, Sat 8:30am–5pm ET. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA

Q: what are the dimensions of both ovens?

A: Hi Barbara- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for considering our GE Series Double Oven Range! The upper oven interior dimensions are 24"W x 8-7/8"H x 18-1/4"D. The lower oven interior dimensions are approximately 24"W x 17 1/2"H x 18 1/4"D. Thanks for checking with us!

Q: What do you recommend using to clean the cook top?

A: Hi Penny, thanks for your question! Before using the glass cooktop for the first time, we recommend cleaning it with CeramaBryte Ceramic Cooktop Cleaner. This helps protect the top and makes cleanup easier. Daily use of this cleaner will also help keep the cooktop looking new. Other cleaning creams may not be as effective. You can also use a soft cloth and some mild dish soap with a small amount of water to help clean up any messes. We also have an article titled "ELECTRIC RANGES & COOKTOPS - GLASS COOKTOP CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS" on our website that you may also find useful! We hope that this helps. Stay safe. -Michael

Q: I have have the ge double oven and I was wondering if they had a setting for different tones for the timer and the cook alarms. I only found a setting for low, medium, and hi. I was hoping it would be possible somehow to be able to hear other sounds.

A: Hi Gpav - Thanks for choosing GE! The ranges does not offer different tones for the timer/clock. The timer tone can be continuous (Con bEEP) or one repeating beep (bEEP). A continuous setting will continue to sound a tone until a button on the control is pressed. See page 12 of the Owner's Manual at this link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-80764-2.pdf - We love hearing suggestions so keep in touch!
