I really wanted to love this machine. I believed in it so much that I kept spending money trying to get it to work. Unfortunately, it has been nothing but problems. Unexpected Costs What I didn’t realize upfront was how many extras I’d have to purchase just to get it set up properly: • Matching café door: $350 • Matching café handle: $150 • Drain pump: $750 • Water filter: $50 • Special cleaning kit: $40 That’s nearly $1,300 in extras—on top of the machine itself, which cost $3,700. For that kind of investment, I expected a reliable, high-quality product and service. I even purchased the Best Buy extra protection plan, hoping it would make things easier if issues came up. The First Unit The first machine delivered had a leak, leaving a constant pool of water at the bottom. After 3 hours on the phone with customer service, I was told I had to wait for Best Buy to send a repair specialist. They determined the unit needed to be replaced. The Replacement Unit The replacement worked fine for about 7 months—until it stopped making ice and only produced loud noises. When I contacted Best Buy again, I expected in-home service since that was what they promised when selling me the protection plan. Instead, they told me I’d need to bring the machine into a store for repair. I explained this was impossible—it took two men to install it in the first place. They then said if I wanted in-home service, I’d have to deal directly with the manufacturer warranty. GE Service Calling GE was another ordeal. After 2 hours being transferred around, I finally reached someone who scheduled a service visit—for a week and a half later. At that appointment, the technician said multiple parts were needed to possibly repair the ice maker, but they weren’t even sure it would solve the issue. They promised to return in two weeks when the parts arrived. Two weeks later, the technician came—but the parts had not. After calling, they discovered one part was on backorder for at least a month. Where Things Stand Now It has now been almost two months of dealing with this broken machine. We have no ice, no updates, and no clear timeline for resolution. Every time we check in, we’re simply told it’s “in review.” For a $3,700 machine plus nearly $1,300 in required extras, I expected so much more. Instead, I’ve been left with months of frustration, unreliable performance, and little accountability from either Best Buy or GE.

Title says it. The ice quality is good but door seal isnt the best once all installed. Also have to buy seperately the panel and handle and likely the pump. All that makes it basicslly the same price or more of competing machines. Im a bit irritated i went with this one but cant return it now!

I like the ice machine. Though, I did not know that the machine would not come with a finished door or internal drain pump.
