  • Features
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: Can this dishwasher be installed in an outdoor kitchen? We live in NY and can winterize the plumbing and unplug but not sure if the electronics will be damaged by the cold?

A: Hello! We appreciate you having GEA join you in your outdoor kitchen. The dishwasher should be out of any potential weather such as rain or snow. There are instructions on page 17 of the manual for winterizing the dishwasher to protect from freezing here: https://files.bbystatic.com/VuA%2BRyPIwCaN3BZqXRd3KQ%3D%3D/125BD3DC-CC71-4AAA-A117-C68A42C3E98E.pdf We hope this helps. - John@GEAppliances

Q: My dish washer stopped working after I turned off the house water then turn back on

A: Hi Brian - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Dishwasher GDT635HSMSS. We are sorry to hear it will not operate after turning off the house water. This is frustrating, we know. Make sure the dishwasher door is closed tightly and is latched correctly. Open the door and then close it again firmly. Reset your home's fuse or circuit breaker for the dishwasher. The dishwasher may be installed with a power cord that has come loose. Not all dishwashers have a power cord; however, if your dishwasher has a cord, the outlet will be in an adjacent cabinet. Be sure the power cord is plugged into the wall and that the outlet is functioning. If it is plugged into a GFI/GFCI outlet that has a reset button, press Reset on the outlet to restore power. If your dishwasher is controlled by a wall switch, make sure the power is turned on. Wall switches are required in some areas, so check around the kitchen counter or in the cabinet under the sink for a switch you do not normally use. If it has power but does not fill with water, take a look at the following link for tips- https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17392 - A technician may be required for an accurate diagnosis. To schedule service online visit: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm - We hope this is helpful. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sue
