LOVE this movie -- a werewolf flick with a twist. I already had the DVD, but I saw this on BD and had to buy it again. I wish they'd sell the entire trilogy collection on Blu-ray, actually. I'd get it, like that. *snaps fingers* I had this saved in my B.B. cart for over a year, because it was sold out, but then I saw one available so I nabbed it, quick. I highly recommend. Oh yeah, & this comes with a reversible cover. I actually preferred the inner cover to the one they use on sites.

I'm happy that this bonafide classic comes home in all its HD glory and that we have a great company like Scream Factory to show these films some love in converting them to Blu-Ray quality. Watching this film, there are so many times that this could have slipped into Twilight territory, even its premise raised and eyebrow. However, the tone, performances, execution, and metaphor not only knock it out of the park, but shows what that teen wank franchise could've been if it respected the genre. While true, An American Werewolf in London is heralded as the definitive werewolf film, there have been international films on the indie scene such as Ginger Snaps and Dog Soldiers to fill that void. This films sees great performances from Katherine Isabelle (a scream queen in her own right) and Emily Perkins as outsiders in high school. Their interest in death was a particularly unique addition to their characters' depth. I don't want to give too much away about this, but it is a solid film that present the werewolf tropes as a thought provoking allegory for puberty. I would wholeheartedly recommend this film and I am happy it's made it's way to the HD market.
