    Synopsis

    Godzilla vs. Gigan
One of the cheapest entries in Toho's Godzilla franchise, this alternately noisy and talky entry finds yet another batch of goofy-looking insectoid aliens plotting to conquer humanity -- from their headquarters deep within a Godzilla theme park! -- using the double-team monster threat of Gigan (a metallic bird-creature with a handy table saw in his belly) and the three-headed Ghidorah. It is somehow apropos to the movie's comic-book premise that the nominal human "hero" is a washed-up cartoonist, who teams up with his equally-ineffectual pals (not counting his butt-kicking girlfriend). Eventually it is left to the Big G to square off against the extraterrestrial foes, with the occasional (but mainly inadequate) aid of Angilus for some tag-team wrestling action (which ranks among the silliest in Toho history). The paltry budget is also quite apparent this time out, as indicated by frequent use of recycled footage from previous monster films, particularly Destroy All Monsters. The film's only real highlight comes in the form of a plot twist which grants Godzilla his first speaking role. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

The story is weird on this one, they must have been struggling to come up with something original but ended up with far less. Good news is the Kaiju action is more gory than any other Godzilla film past or present with Anguirus catching a buzzsaw straight to the head with blood gushing and Godzilla gets smacked with a meat hook to the noggin & gets knocked cold in a pool of blood. Granted Gidorah stands around voguing while Gigan does all the heavy lifting but Godzilla is paired up with spiky Anguirus who really does nothing more than bite tails and gets in the way, he really is the fifth wheel and adding Gidorah just by himself is enough to take on both easily since his last appearances has him owning Godzilla until he is outnumbered. Video - Sony, Media Blasters & Classic Media... " Step away from the Godzilla film stock!" & just hand over all films to Kraken releasing and observe how Kaiju HD transfers are done! Kraken once again gives you a perfect transfer with all its grainy glory & saturated colors with no altering film grain structure by the use of DNR or filters that strip the image of detail and make colors look drab. This film looks glorious with beautiful reds especially Gigans eye and the night time fighting with fires in the backdrop look fantastic. Detail is off the charts. PLEASE KRAKEN RELEASING, IF BY CHANCE YOU READ THIS REVIEW... We need more 60's Godzilla films transfered by you! Audio - 2 HD DTS Master Audio soundtracks in English & Japanese.. do I really need to say anymore? Extra's - minimal due to 2 HD soundtracks, you get a trailer If you are a Godzilla fan buy all 3 Kraken Godzilla releases on Blu-ray you will be awestruck, they have never looked this good! Highly.. And I mean the Highest recommendation on all 3 Kraken Godzilla releases!

Enjoy a trip into the Showa era, the period that many Godzilla fans know of as the time of Godzilla's goofier adventures, as the King of the Monsters contends with a duo of monsters from beyond the galaxy. A Godzilla theme park is being built, but something seems very off with the people in charge of doing it. Suspicions are proven as these same "people" (won't spoil it, but they aren't what they seem) summon what is perhaps one of the most bizarre kaiju of the entire series, Gigan (imagine a chicken crossed with a lizard crossed with a robot crossed with a....you know what, just watch the movie), who is teaming up with one of Godzilla's most famous foes, King Ghidorah. Most people know what to expect from these kind of movies, as we're eventually treated to what boils down as a wrestling match between a bunch of guys in rubber suits. Godzilla and his most-of-the-time-except-their-first-meeting ally Anguirus (basically a mutated Ankylosaurus) vs. the evil Gigan and Ghidorah. It's pretty basic kaiju antics, so if you're new to the tales of the big G, there's worse movies to start at. Nuke yourself a bag of popcorn and enjoy some old-school monster-bashing.

No matter how bad people say this movie is, If you saw it as a child, it's one of your innocent "Wonders" You have your STARWARS fan, your Harry Potter fans, & you have your Godzilla Fans, It's a movie you would want to see over & over, every so often, It's even more fun to watch with the Family. When it first came out on VHS, you went after it , if you found it on DVD, you would be happy, but here we have it on Blu-ray now, "Still go for it" ,Dub in English, that brings back memory. No matter how you feel about this movie, if your a Godzilla Fan you would want it in your collections ,I know I do.
