Q: QuestionHow is this product powered, what is needed to wire it in?
Asked by Monkiman.
- A:Answer Hello, So the nest outdoor camera is powered by plugging into an outlet. It comes with a basic cord where you plug one end into the camera, and plug the other end into an outlet. Thankfully, it also comes with an extension cord that increases the length of the wire if your outlet is far away. It also comes with wall clips so that your wire does not hang loosely. There is nothing else needed to wire it in. All you need is an outlet, the wire, the wall clips, an IOS or android device, and a good internet connection. Let me know if this helped!

Q: QuestionI'm trying to understand the subscription part of this. If you don't get a subscription, what do you get? Just real-time alerts, video feed and two-way communication to your phone but no recording?
Asked by cpk6104.
- A:Answer Correct. Without a subscription you get real-time alerts, live-video feed and two-way communication but no historical recording.

Q: QuestionIf the cameras need to be plugged into an outlet, then the thief can just unplug it right?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer That is correct, they can be unplugged. We drilled a two holes into our garage, one for the front of the garage and one for the front entry of the house, ran the cords into the garage to plug them in on the inside, then sealed the holes around the cord.

Q: QuestionCan the Nest outdoor cam detect motion from small objects like golf balls? One of my neighbors' is playing golf & the golf balls end up in my backyard. I cannot file a formal complaint without knowing where the golf balls are coming from.
Asked by Pepper.
- A:Answer I have several Nest Outdoor cameras. They are excellent, however, I don't believe that it will detect very small objects like a golf ball. My cameras detect small animals like skunks, cats and so on, but I don't think it would catch something that small. But you have to remember that the camera is always on and you can search the archive video to see if you see anything. I rolled a golf ball for you on my back patio to see if it will detect it. The camera did not notify me of any movement, but I was still able to see it on the playback. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Q: QuestionDo these cameras have to be connected to the same WIFI network? For example, I wanted to place one at my home and one at my place of business, would this be possible? Both have wifi networks and outlets.
Asked by Jason.
- A:Answer I have two of these at home and one at my shop. As long as you do the setup under the same nest account you will see all three cameras on the nest app simultaneously. The wifi network doesn't matter. It's awesome I love it.

Q: QuestionHow many Nest out door cameras can you hook up to your router? Is there a limit of cameras on the plan?
Asked by Jeff.
- A:Answer It depends on your internet speed coming to the house, the router you have, and how strong the signal is to the cameras. If you have an N-Router, probably 1 or 2 at most if currently you have less than 6 devices on the router. If you have an AC1900 Router, you could probably connect up to 10 Cameras. If you have a weak signal to where the cameras are going to be, you are going to have a hard to loading the camera, and when it detects motion, it's going to take longer to notify you, and longer for it to actually start recording. It might record in 720 or lower video quality if it's a slow connection. I would download a speedtest app on your phone. Go by the place where you would want to install the camera, and run a speed test, you should have atleast 10 - 20Mbps download, and a minimum of 2Mbps upload. (Ideally 10Mbps, but the higher than upload, the better).
