A: This camera has a 130 degree field of view.

Q: Does the Nest Cam with floodlight have night vision?
A: Yes, the Nest Cam with floodlight has night vision and provides a clear image even in low light and darkness.
Q: How is this camera powered?
A: This camera is hard wired for power.
Q: How long does the camera store recorded events if the Wi-Fi goes down?
A: If your Wi-Fi goes down, the camera will store up to one hour of recorded events.
Q: Can I use the Google Home app to control the camera?
A: Yes, you can view live HD video, replay video recordings, control your floodlight, and more from the Google Home app.
Q: Can the floodlight be mounted horizontally under an eave where the exiting floodlight box is?
A: Nest Support could not answer this question through my chat. I think the designers of camera floodlights have never stepped outside the lab to realize floodlights are commonly installed under the eave to shine light on two sides of a house around corners, versus a wall mount that can only shine on one side. No camera flood light on the market today can be mounted properly under an eave because the sensor will not swivel far enough to have the correct line of sight at this angle. Many regular motion lights cannot even achieve this and they've been around for years. Try explaining this to a 16 year old on Nest Support that has never installed a light fixture.
Q: Are bulbs replaceable and what size ?
A: Had the same question and contacted customer service to ask. The bulbs on the Nest floodlight camera cannot be replaced. You would have to replace the entire unit.

The flood lights are nice and bright and the camera quality is good. The reasons for 1 star reduction are it is having difficulty staying connected to the wifi even though there is a booster near it and it won’t allow me to use the old nest app (a more user friendly app). In order to monitor the feed I had to install it thru the google home app which means my door bell and other cameras are not all viewable at the same time. A previous review indicated I would have to build a mount since it was being installed under a soffit so that was known when I bought the light but nest should consider that because not everyone is installing on the side of a wall.

We’ve got plenty of Google devices so set up was easy. This does have a larger lights and a bigger collar than our old light, so I had to do light carpentry. Bright lights. Clear picture. Wide field of view. This is our first Nest outdoor cam, and it moves quicker through the network than our old Arlo system with a wired base station. But for more than 3 hours video storage, you’ve got to upgrade to Nest Aware. Not so bad as the new plans cover all Nest Cameras rather than a fee for each.

I put this on my detached garage and it picks people up from across the street that even my doorbell camera can’t. The floodlight is impressively bright, looking at it you wouldn’t expect any where near the light it puts out, plus the camera has a night vision mode for when the floodlight kicks off.
