This is a handy little attachment for your GoPro. I got it specifically for a cruise vacation. What was nice is that I could kind of used to wear my GoPro as a watch when running around the boat or at a port, when I wasn't sure if I'd want it or not...if I did, it was right there. It attaches very securely and the choice between the little hook and the velcro is nice. That being said, it's hard to actually shoot video with this thing on your wrist without keeping your arm contorted in some odd position. I took it snorkeling and would take it off my wrist and kind of strap it around my hand which gave me a pretty good hold and control of the camera without fear of dropping it. It was easy enough to re-strap that it didn't make it much of an issue. I've also since used this to strap my GoPro to a tripod and I'm sure you could find 100 different uses for it...definitely anything round like a bar or pipe (bike, motorcycle maybe)...

Awkward for what I bought it for.

Bought this to use while snorkeling. Once I started wearing it, it became very obvious, it is very awkward to use while diving down or just while floating at surface. To point the camera you need to have your forearm at a right angle to the shot. For me, it would be much better if it was mounted on a swivel of some sort. It would give more options. Also, the housing strap down clip comes undone very easily. One time the housing is strapped up against my wrist out of the way and next it's flapping on it's pivot point (and getting in my way). It should have a better way to tighten the tension on the clip. If they were thinking of using the Velcro to do this, Velcro is not strong enough and it wears out.

This mount is VERY secure. I removed the springy part on the top and opted to simply have it stuck flat to my arm. The mount is Velcro and very wide, wrapping around my arm and definitely staying put. I wore it on roller coasters and rides at Knott's and if the staff saw it they made me take it off, but trust me this is not going anywhere. It's as good as nailed down. Wearing it for the day was very comfortable. I have no doubt this unit will survive anything that you can throw at it. I debated buying this or a short "selfie stick" or other sorts of mounts, but this is indeed the way to go. I made the right choice and am glad I picked this.

Recently purchased my GoPro camera, and bought every mount I thought I would need, discounting the wrist mount (thinking it would be cumbersome). I was going to use the camera in the ocean on our cruise....so at the last minute I picked up the wrist mount, as well. Boy am I glad I did!!! It turned out to be the only "body" mount I used on the entire cruise. Worked well in all situations, and was pleasantly surprised that it fit so comfortably with my larger than average wrists (8.5-9") Quite surprisingly, probably had 70 people ask me if the mount/camera was a "watch" while wearing it.....lmao

Okay on bare wrist, better over a jacket sleeve

I primarily got this for recreational use with my kids. I took it on a hike and the way they made it was a little hard to use. When you flip it up, it has to be semi cockeyed on your wrist (it cuts into your radius since there isn't much tissue there) in order to capture something. Also your wrist gets very sweaty on a hot day from the padded part. However, if it was on a ski jacket or wrapped around a bar (such as my stroller), it works great. When you tighten it down, it stays put. Conclusion: I would recommend it. It has its purpose just like the harness they make (I use it the most), and I'm sure you'll have a purpose for it too.

I used this to take first person shots of my kids riding on the roller coasters at Disneyland. It's small enough that I had it on my wrist most of the time while I was walking around the park and didn't notice I was wearing it. It was like wearing a bulky watch. When we got on rides I would try and Velcro it on to a bar in the front of the ride so I could capture my kids expressions while they were riding. Some rides it worked great on( California Screaming, Goofys Sky School). Others I could not find a decent bar to strap it to. For those the strap was a good way to wrap it around my hand and shoot videos while I was on a ride.

The strap is good quality and makes me feel better about it not falling off. Which is def a plus considering the price of the go pro. the strap is diffcult to get used to but you can unhook the top part of the housing use the camera better with your opposite hand but if your doing anything active, you might not be able to do that. Some attractions at amusement parks wont let you use the go pro with the wrist strap because of getting your arm caught or damaging equipment so you may want to think about the chest strap. I don't know if I can bring myself to wear the chest strap but I may have to.

GoPro wrist housing works well. Fits securely without feeling bulky on your wrist but it did take me a little while to train myself to keep the wrist steady for a better vid. My only complaint is that there are a few bits of sand that got inside the housing when i was taking the gopro out after a snorkeling trip. they are stuck in the front inside lens area and while it doesn't effect the shot, my concern is they come loose when the cameras in there and cause an issue. Tried rinsing them out to no avail. So be careful if you've been playing at the beach.
