2 Quentin Tarantino Must Have!!!!
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendfirst of all I would like to Say why I rated this a 4 out of 5 stars, it was simply because this is a one disk with both movies on it and does not give the option to choose which movie you would like to watch! as I put on the movie first the trailers came out and then planet terror played by itself and after planet terror Additional trailers played And then came death proof. when I am asked if I would recommend this movie I always say if you like Quentin Tarantino movies you will like these however if you don't enjoy his movies then you will not like them! there are many A-list celebrities that come out in these movies such as Rose McGowan, Freddie Rodriguez, Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson and many more!

Double Feature !!!!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMost audiences decides to opt out of this double feature in 2007 and its great to see it on blu ray. Its fun and sometimes ridiculous that plays homage to its source material of the 50s and 60s. Two different films but both merit a viewing. Audio and Picture quality is great.

Rodriguez/Tarrentino Back to Back.................
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendTogether they have redefined the art of Independent film with hits such as Reservoir Dogs, El Mariachi, Pulp Fiction, Desperado, Sin City and Inglorious B*******. Their first combined effort was the Vampire/Action flick From Dusk Till Dawn now they bring us Grindhouse a double bill from an era long gone and a style that only these two writer/director's could pull off. Upon it's initial release Grindhouse failed to find it's audience, so the studio was forced to split the double bill and release the films separately. Rodriguez's Planet Terror did well but it was Tarrentino's Death Proof that did better. Combined they offer up the same fun filled odd ball feel that the standalone's did. The only difference is we get back all the fake trailers that were made along with it. This movie also deletes a few scenes that are intact in the extended cuts on the individual releases. Thus this is the only way to get the full theatrical experience. Having this version on blu features all of the same bonus features that appeared on the extended cuts but with a few new extra's for each film. PQ is the same as the other cuts with all the grain and print scratches that enhances the experience. AQ is a major disappointment since it is only offering a standard 5.1 surround. It's fine, but a DTS track would of been better. I for one am glad to have the complete Grindhouse as I enjoyed it as much as the extended cuts. I'm a huge fan of Tarantino so this was a definite purchase for me.

Both films and trailers on one disk!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendHaving owned the extended cut of Death Proof on DVD I was looking to at the least upgrade to Blu-Ray. I came across the Grindhouse Blu-Ray at a good price and bought it, knowing I would get both movies back to back as well as the trailers. Whats Good: Both films are here back to back as well as the trailers. I really enjoyed the double feature format. Planet Terror was good, all the trailers were good. Overall this far into it, it was what I was expecting with this purchase. Whats Bad: The only thing I dislike and the reason I gave this product 4 stars was I didn't enjoy the version of Death Proof on this one. I am used to seeing the extended cut by itself so when I saw this version with all of the missing bits I was let down as in my opinion the extended cut was much better. Other than my extreme nitpicking, this is still very good and I would recommend it just on the fact that both movies and trailers are here in the original presentation. However if you just want Death Proof by itself I would say get the extended cut.

GRINDHOUSE TIME
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI remember seeing this in the theater with friends in college and it was a BLAST! They released both movies seperate years ago which was okay but it was missing the GRINDHOUSE feel. This gets those 2 parts together finally with some missing reels added in that was missing from the 2 previous editions sold separately. This is a must own for ANY Horror, Tarantino or Rodriguez fan. They should do a new one together.

Its a MOVIE about MOVIES
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIts just a quality through and through and it stand alone, doesn't need any help. However, it makes you wonder what would happen if planet terror was an actual movie that was taken just 1 notch more seriously, with just one slight pinch more backstory i think it would have been something even more amazing, but that was not the point of this joint endeavor. But these guys are just showing off in this movie, lots off tips of the cap to the master John Carpenter and to day and time when special affects were done a bit differently and some would argue better. If you like The Thing, Dawn of the Dead and or the french connection you will enjoy this movie for certain.
