cheap TV for gamers and college students

Quality3 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:PictureCons mentioned:Lag, VolumeI bought this tv not expecting much. I bought the TV for a steam link and Netflix feature and it runs smoothly. For sound it's pretty loud out of the box so I'd dial down the audio. For music though I would avoid or change the settings as the bass is sorta boosted and distorted and clips. I don't know if that's the music I listen too but it doesn't really work well with rap or bass heavy music otherwise it is great. It's input lag for gaming is average but you aren't buying this TV for competitive play. the TV is bright and clear enough for me at 720 and 60 frames. So all in all buy this TV for a college student or person in a small apartment in your life

False Advertising
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5I purchased two of these TVs to connect to google assistant. To use this function you must purchase a different remote from Hisense! There is no way to access the assistant otherwise so the tv really doesn't have google assistant, it has google assistant capabilities. The TV itself is okay, some programs are laggy but screen quality is okay and can connect to my Bluetooth headphones. Hisense is on the naughty list for false advertising.......and yes I called customer support.

Much Better Than Expected!
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Price, Sound qualityCons mentioned:Google, VolumeFirst things first: I'm not sure why this is listed everywhere (not just here) as a 720p panel, when it's actually 1080p. (Every device I've thrown at it reports back that it's 1.4 HDCP with a 1080p resolution. Even my Roku, which won't go above the maximum resolution the panel is.) It's very nice, visually. Colors are bright, the sharpness is maybe a little too sharp, but the color features are top notch. Various color temps, 11 point white balance system, even a flesh tone adjustment. Audio is... Okay. It has DTS TruSurround (sounds great!) and a volume limiter (might be necessary) as well as a 5-point equalizer (and various "preset" modes.) The speakers are quite loud, even at a quarter of the way up, but they get raspy and crackle at that point and suffer the most from music, but voice/regular TV sounds just fine. (I'd recommend using Bluetooth speakers, headphones, or even a soundbar/speaker system instead.) 2x HDMI 1X Component/Composite 1x Coax 2x USB (says 5v, .5a, but I believe it's 5v, 1a as it runs Chromecast and Roku devices just fine, no power brick required.) The included remote is nice with direct feature buttons for YouTube, Google Play, etc. It does not have a microphone/voice control, even though the TV asks you to set up Google Assistant. (This is more for using your phone as the remote/microphone, really.) The Android TV platform plays really well with this unit. It's surprisingly snappy and quick for a budget unit. It only has 5-6 GBs of internal storage (out of the box, it's 4.5 available) so you might want to plug in a flash drive for extra storage. I'd recommend turning on developer options (go to "build" in the settings and tap it 7 times) and disabling animations in that menu. Don't play with any other settings in there, though. It'll be just fine with the animations being the only modified thing in that menu.) In the interest of full disclosure, I was able to purchase this as an early Black Friday deal via Best Buy and the BF price of $80.00 is a no-brainer. Makes for a great bedroom or office TV. At regular price, a bit iffy because you could spend more and get a 4k for not a lot more in terms of MSRP. Still, though, I'm really impressed with this model and I do recommend it.

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Picture, Price, Set upCons mentioned:Apps720P vs 1080P TV: Another reviewer stated this set (Hisense 32" H5590F) was really 1080P despite being advertised as 720P. I don't think so, when connected to my desktop it reported the native resolution as 1300x768, so mine is indeed a 720P TV, NOT 1080P. In settings my Roku was set to 1080P, but I believe that's because it was setup on a 1080P TV, For normal viewing distances at 32" 720P is fine (just about all 32" TV are 720P for this reason). Above about 40" 1080P becomes more important. I have a couple more of these set coming next week and will test to confirm the resolution of those also, but I expect them to also be 1300x768. When hooked up to my PC at the default 1300x768 I did notice the a tiny bit of the screen image is cut off on the left side and bottom of the screen. It such a small amount that doesn't really make a difference as far as watching TV or movies, and for the price paid it doesn't really bother me. Android TV: I wasn't expecting much from such a low price TV, but it works pretty well and isn't terribly slow as I was expecting. I audio and video is a bit off in a few apps a tried (YouTube, Vudu), but it's usually minimal enough to be ok unless you fixate on it. I wasn't expecting much, but it better than I was expecting. Not sure the image of the Android TV is as good as my Roku, but I didn't think it would be. At this price I see the SmartTV features as a bonus. There where LG and Insignia 32" models that cost $10 to $20 more but lacked the SmartTV features. So, with the Hisense your getting more for less. Test the Chromecast feature with my Android phone and it worked, also tested it with my Oculus Quest and it also worked. I was a bit surprised as some Android TV don't seem to work with Oculus Quest casting. It has google assistant, but no mic in the remote. You need a Google home device to use voice search/assist. You have to use the onscreen keyboard, no voice assist without a Google device. You might be able to by connecting it to your android phone, but sure about this and at this point don't care enough to look into it, as for my use it's not needed. Image quality: I find the image quality fine for the price. It's not the best but reasonable for a cheap TV. If you buy a dirt cheap TV and expect it to rival the costly big boys, you'll be disappointed. But if you have reasonable expectations when buying a low cost TV you're likely to be satisfied. In the end it better than what I was anticipating when getting the cheapest 32" TV I could find on Black Friday. The Extras: 2x HDMI 2x USB 2.0 (powered my Roku Streaming Stick+ just fine) 1x Digital optical audio out 1x composite inputs 1x headphone jack 1X Ethernet input Bluetooth (I paired it with my Sony BT headphones to test, and it worked) Most other 32" TV had fewer or lacked some of the extras (including SmartTV features) and cost more. NOTE: to pair with Bluetooth headphone you have to 1. be in Android TV 2. go to setting (upper right) 3. Scroll down to "remote & accessories" 4. Press on "Remote & Accessories" and it will search for Bluetooth devices. Bottom Line: This is a decent set at a good value for the price paid. It was abetter than I was expecting out of the cheapest Black Friday 32" TV I could find This is not what I'd want for a main TV, but for a secondary TV, spare room/office TV or some other secondary uses where you just want something cheap... this fits that roll nicely. The Smart TV features is a nice bonus for the price, and works well enough. In that roll I would recommended this TV.
