Way more fun then you think
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first scooter in 30 years. I’m a 40y/o dad and got this try and keep up with my daughter when she is wanting to use her scooter, skateboard, bike, running shoes or whatever. She’s 7 and I just can’t keep up with the fun stuff like I used to. After I bought this, I charged it up and took it for a test ride on my own and I can definitely say that within my first 5 seconds on it, I was definitely sold. It is so fun. It can keep up with my daughter just fine. At 15mph which a top speed for the Journey, the only thing we’ve tried that my daughter is faster than me is biking. She’s got a higher top speed, but can’t maintain it for long enough to completely lose sight of her. I’d thought 15mph was pretty lame, but on a scooter as an adult I have realized it’s pretty fast. I’ve crashed twice not paying attention and if I’m pretty sure adults shouldn’t be eating on scooters ever and if I had been going any faster then i’d have broke more than my pride. Neither crash so much as scratched my scooter. It’s extremely solid. Feels heavy duty and is definitely sized for an adult. The disc breaks and electronic brakes are very responsive. Everything about this performs as advertised except the distance and time you can travel per charge. It says 14 miles but that must be for my 7yr olds daughter that weighs 40 lbs. my fat butt is close to 200 lbs and lucky to get 5 miles, but it’s a really fun 5 miles. I ride this thing everyday now while my daughter travels on one of her things. The cruise control feature allows me to lock in at any speed she is traveling right down to 3mph which is what we did yesterday while she tried her first run at roller skates. I enjoy riding this thing so much that I ride it without her too. I’ve gone on nice bike trails by myself and it’s so nice to just cruise so smoothly, passing bikers here and there, and enjoy a ride. It’s virtually silent which is very peaceful and doesn’t make you stand out. I even run nearby errands on it when I don’t need to. Just rolling around like a creep with a beard on a scooter. Can’t help almost feeling like a hipster. My gf makes fun of me but it’s enough fun to not care. I highly recommend this thing. I’m 6 weeks in now and feel confident that I’ll continue to enjoy it. Love this Scooter! Zip Zip and Away!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love this scooter! We were looking for a fun and easy way to get around and cruise the park and neighborhood since my kids outgrew their manual scooters. After spending time in San Diego, where my son rented an electric scooter to roam around the beach, we thought that electric scooters would be worth a try. The Hover-1 Journey was a good option for us to try out. It was large enough for adults – up to 220 pounds. After picking it up at the store, we opened the box and discovered that it is super easy to figure out. The assembly was simple and the quick start guide helped us understand the controls and display pretty easily. There is a brake, power function, LCD Display, throttle, and a cute little bell. Your speed displays on the LCD along with the battery power. There is also a headlight to use for safety and in the dark. The manual did call out safety items such as wearing a helmet and avoiding steep hills. The standard charger was really easy to attach and charged pretty quickly. Outside it was easy to learn to ride and zippy. It is both fun and practical to use. You simply use the handheld control to bring the scooter up to speed and you can engage cruise control for longer distances. I could easily cruise down the street to the gas station and back without incident. The top speed of 15 mph is sufficient to feel the breeze. It is really fun to ride! My daughter wants to take one to college now, so looks like we need to get another. I also packed it up for a weekend trip, and it folded up perfectly in my crossover – easy to collapse and assemble – two steps! It is a fun item to cruise around on outside on nice spring and summer days. I would recommend this to anyone looking to put a little zip in their step!

Reliable transportation for my 15yr old
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I have to say this scooter has been a god send for me transportation-wise with my teenager. Now my 15 yr old can go to any friends house or park across town without me having to provide a ride or waiting on me to pick him up once I'm out of work. Which is great because I work 10-hour shifts!! He is 119lbs and he zips by in a flash, has great speed going up hills, love that this has a light on the front and backlight for cars to see him while riding at night. This even has a horn lol!! This scooter came in 4 days with no damage even came almost charged. It's a little heavy but nothing an average person can't handle. I read all the reviews and I was a little skeptical however I kept in mind everyone has their own opinion and I'm so happy I decided to give this a chance. Still works great after a month of using this and the battery still performs just like it did after the very first charge. If he rides about 4 hours straight he's down to 2 or 1 bars of battery life left. Keep in mind the more you weigh the shorter the battery life. I have no complaints... The only complaint I have is with myself for not thinking of this sooner. It's truly a great buy and rides smoothly. You won't be disappointed!!

Durable and solid tires hard to put air in
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The scooter is durable and solid my whole family has one. Bought it for one kid liked it so much bought it for the family. It is a little heavy so not appropriate for really young kids. I like the flashlight feature the fact that you can see where the battery is it doesn't take long to charge it's not hard to put together.

Hover-1 & Best Buy: All Kinds of Awesome
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this on Dec 11 for store pickup in 7-10 days; it was delayed though and we had to pick it up after Xmas. In early March, after light usage (my 14 yo used it on weekends, maybe 15 outings?) it ground gradually to a stop. The rear light was flashing, the display went blank and it would give a beep tone when the power button was pressed. Thought it needed charging (tho it had recently been charged); but that didn't help, the charging light remained green which we learned meant the battery was full and/or not being charged. We did some research for a week or so, how to reset it, etc, nothing helped: still unable to power on, just a high pitched tone when you press the power button. We then submitted a support ticket with Hover-1, they said nothing about how to fix the problem, only that the 90 day warranty expired Mar 11th sorry. While reporting the issue to Hover-1, I also discovered our model was H1-PNR, or the Hover-1 Pioneer, not the Journey which we ordered. Best Buy doesn't advertise the Pioneer so not sure how we ended up with that; it appears I was charged for the more expensive Journey model but given the Pioneer at pick up and didn't notice the difference. In any case, it doesn't work. So that's that I guess, there's my experience. Both have washed their hands of this poorly made non-functioning scooter precisely 90 days from when they charged me (not from when I took delivery); they booked revenue before Xmas, I didn't have a gift to give in time, then got a lesser model which crapped out in a couple of months with no recourse. Hover-1 and Best Buy make a pretty awesome combo

Great scooter and no more need for rental scooter!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, the scooter shipped extremely fast and we received it quicker than expected. Thanks to the durable box it comes in (as you can see in the picture), there is no need to waste additional material shipping it inside of an additional shipping box. Now to speak about the scooter itself, there is no uphill battle when riding this scooter. As described, this scooter has no issue climbing steep hills. As long as you are following the city laws, this scooter provides a feeling of safety and fun all in one. Would recommend for a beginner or experienced scooter rider. Can't wait to explore more on my scooter.

There are design flaws
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The scooter is fun and helps save a lot of money on gas. But Hover has a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. For the neck to break down is cool for it to lock to the back of the scooter cool. But U can’t have that kind of pressure on hard plastic. The 1st one and the second one broke in the same spot. Now the second one they charged the overall design of the scooter and made it better but the second coming out of the box I had to do some fixing on it. The break pad was too far out which dragged on the break disc. Then with the second one once I reach the top of this slop it dies on me even tho the battery is only missing 1 bar. It will turn back on but does this at least 3/5 times I go that way on that street why no clue it just does it. So I will be taking this scooter back again and adding yet another Geek Squad protection plan. BUY THE GEEK SQUAD

Nice Scooter!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.really giving this scooter 4.75 stars. It does what it says it's supposed to do - up to the max speed it says, as long as you're not 165 lbs or more. The reason it's not 5 stars is because handle is leaning towards left. No matter what ruler or level we use, it just won't make it center.

Q: QuestionRebadge of Xiaomi m365 scooter?
Asked by sk1.
- A:Answer Seems like it, which is great since there are already a lot of maintenance videos on the Xiaomi, such as tire repairs. I'm not sure if Hover-1 cut corners on the inner tube, rim, or tire, but they WILL get flat, just a matter of time. Best suggestion is adding slime sealant to prevent and repair the tires. Changing them is a pain.

Q: QuestionHow are you supposed to replace the wheels when they are worn out and where do I get them from?
Asked by SaulGtb.
- A:Answer Tires are available on Amazon. They sell a solid tire that doesn’t use air so you don't get a flat. To take the wheel off, there are plastic covers hiding the hardware that attaches the wheel. Remove the plastic covers to take the wheel off. I hope your scooter is a good one. I have had to return two of them because of defects.

Q: QuestionIs there a way to lock it up, so you can go into buildings and feel safe it wont be stolen?
Asked by 603patriotnation.
- A:Answer Technically the handlebars are screwed on so a small enough U lock would be possible. You could also run something through the spokes on the rear tire. I wouldn’t recommend either though. Anyone with any motivation is going to be able to defeat those ideas with little to know trouble. Best Buy’s sells a smart u lock that is small enough to lock around the handle bar support tube and will notify your phone if anything is tampered with which might give you enough time to return before someone unscrewed to two screw and removed the handle bars. It does collapse very simply and nicely. If I have to go in somewhere I take it with and either set it behind a security desk or bring it along. It’s heavy, whisk sucks but easy to carry.

Q: QuestionCan this scooter go up a hill? Does it have enough power to do that?
Asked by TechC.
- A:Answer The Hover-1 Journey struggles on hills, but if can get you up a mild grade one (~15 degrees or so). I'm 230 lbs and mine slows down to around 7-8 mph on hills; you'd probably do better if you're lighter. A couple of times when I was gunning the throttle all the way on a longer hill the engine cut out completely, and I had to wait 30 seconds before I could start it up again. I actually had the engine die on me again today on a completely flat bike path, but I was going along beside the river into some extremely strong head-winds. Long story short, the engine on this scooter works fine on flat ground but if you live in an area with a fair amount of hills I'd recommend something more powerful (and probably more expensive).
