Printer stopped printing in less than two months
||Posted .Everything was working properly. Yesterday I sent a job to the printer. It made a few beeps and sounds, then the touch screen went black, then white, then changed into a mode with HP and Energy star logo, then white and it goes on and on (see photos). I have tried reset several times, to no avail. I am ok with certain hiccups every once in a while, but it hasn't even been two months and I already have to call support because the product does not respond to resets?! Unacceptable.

Newer, Better and Smaller -- HP Color Laser
||Posted .I had an earlier model of HP Color Laser printer that I paid nearly twice as much for several years ago. The older model was starting to print rather poor quality (after about five years of pretty steady use) and HP recommend a maintenance kit that WOULD have cost more than this new printer. So far I have printer several hundred pages, both monochrome and color and am very impressed. I've even reduced the print coverage density for all the toner colors and can hardly see a difference, other than reduced toner usage--you really need to check out the web interface or find these settings in the printer software, you'll save a bunch. I strongly recommend this printer for relatively high duty cycles and uses.

Good for home office or small business.
||Posted .This is a color laser and prints very well, as one would expect. It does not print photographs, but the quality of images is fine for all but the most demanding jobs. Print speed is fine. It can print on both sides of the paper and there is very little lag time between sides. (My old inkjet waited for page 1 to dry.) Setup is simple and there was no problem with the wifi. You can email stuff to it. There are other features I have not explored. The only worry I have is the cost of toner, but I am still on my first set.

Great color printer for home.
||Posted .I did some research on black and white laser printers. The articles said that laser jets were cheaper to print than inkjet printers due to ink cost per print. However, I couldn't find a black & white model that I felt comfortable with and that had wireless connection. Reviews were spotty. So then I read a review on the new HP color laser printers. We wouldn't be using it for printing any photos, just attachments or graphics on printouts. Read other reviews and they were all positive. Got home and set it up where our old printer used to be. LCD screen was nice and large enough to do set up. Wireless connection was easy after figuring out how to establish the connection. Even though don't really need a manual these days would have been nice to have basic set up functions on a paper. Printer was setup and running in less than 15 minutes. Printouts have been very impressive, but haven't used the duplex printing yet so cannot comment on that feature.

Impressed So Far
||Posted .My wife needed a color printer for work as a school teacher. Her main requirement was duplexing for double sided pages and mine was it had to be a laser printer that used toner. In the end we chose this HP M252dw due to price, size, and local availability. It is an upgrade to a still functioning HP Laserjet P1102w black and white printer. The included toner cartridges lasted for almost 1,000 pages. The black lasted longer than the color cartridges. Duplexing is a tiny bit slow as the printer spits out the page and then rolls it back in to print the back side, but it works well if you're not in a hurry. The biggest draw back to this printer and most other color laser printers is the cost of the replacement toner. Over 1,000 pages in and not a single jam so far. My wife is happy, so I am happy.

Nice Printer
||Posted .This is a very nice printer that allowed me to finally get away from ink printers. I don't print very often and I found that my ink printers used much more more ink during the power on clean cycles than they did during the actual printing. This type of problem does not exist with laser printers. This HP LJ Pro printer is very fast, it is full duplex, and the text and graphics quality are both excellent. This printer is not a photo quality printer. Plain paper photos look pretty good, but they are a bit on the dark side. I would say that a plain paper photo from this laser printer looks better than a plain paper photo from an ink printer and the paper does not become saturated with ink. A thick photo paper print from a quality ink printer will look better than a plain paper photo printed from this laser printer. To summarize, a great printer for text and general graphics. This is not an appropriate printer for high quality photo printing.

Best Entry Level Color Laser Printer
||Posted .I have always used H.P. printers. Though the print quality on most InkJets is now on par with most lasers I "personally" like the lack of dry-time on heavily colored prints. This model has evolved a bit but it's a GREAT entry level laser for anyone. Though its comparatively heavy once in place you can be printing in less than 5min. I have printed well over 500 pages without one jam. Though specific to an individual's preferences I believe that it's worth the cost of the toner (which is expensive) and Based on my experience I can recommend this printer without reservation.

Great printer but...
||Posted .I got this printer on a sale and it was a great price. I highly recommend the printer (fast, clear and quality prints) except for one thing... the replacement toner is going to cost me more than twice the cost of the printer. Unfortunately, I need to print in color and inkjets are just not going to cut it for my usage. So either I pay an arm for ink cartridge or both an arm and a leg for the toner replacement. Either way I have to pay. There doesn't seem to much in the way of generic (cheaper) toner replacements at the current time, but that may change. Here's a crazy idea - just buy a new printer each time the toner runs out. Yes, it's a crazy world and absolutely absurd that the economics of that idea may be a viable one. So based on the price of replacement toner alone, this goes from a 5-star product to a 3-star product.

Q: Questionhow long do the toner cartridges last? How much do they cost?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer If you use the printer everyday for color printing, it depends on the usage. You can use the set-up page to see how many pages the cartridge will be good for. Some of the cartridges will go 1200 pages and cost about $70 each.
