Q: COPYING: 2-sided to 2-sided
A: The HP Officejet 8040 with Neat will not detect if the original is a two-sided document.
Q: What are the specs/requirements for the NEAT features?
A: I don't know if it would replace your current NEAT account but it does have the option to scan directly to the NEAT cloud or to your computer via wireless or wired. It also stores to the External HD and there is a utility you have to download to access the files on the External HD. It scans dual sided pages upon selection. I do not know if it recognizes dual sided pages and scans both automatically. I can tell you for scanning pictures the scan quality has a lot to be desired. For picture scans this is not the printer to buy.
