Super Comfortable Headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big fan of the HyperX Cloud lineup. I have tried out many versions (the Cloud, Cloud II, CloudX, Cloud Pro, and the Core). They all have their own little advantages, but one thing is consistent - comfort. These are hands down the most comfortable headsets you can get in this price range. I have played for 4+ hours without any fatigue or ear discomfort. They are clearly well built. It's an aluminum frame, so I need not worry about broken plastic. The cord has a woven sleeve, the mic boom is sturdy while still remaining bendable, and the ear cups are plush. I picked up the Cloud Core on sale for $60, and it is an amazing value (even at its normal $70). The headset comes with a detachable mic, a single 3.5mm connector, and PC Y splitter cable. I can plug the headset straight into my XBOX One Controller (I have the updated controller with the 3.5mm jack), or I can plug the Y splitter cable into my computer. There are no other frills to this headset, but to be honest, I don't think you need anything more. I have had a really good experience with the sound and mic quality of the headset. I use it to play XBOX late at night, so I won't wake up my wife and kids. I normally play with my 7.1 setup, so I was unsure about stepping down to a stereo headset. I was very impressed with the sound quality of the drivers. Nothing seems overblown, the speakers aren't tinny, the bass is just right, and everything is nice and clear. My teammates have no complaints for the mic. They don't hear any background noise, and my voice comes through perfectly clear. This headset is the base model for the lineup. It doesn't come with any volume control (like the Cloud I volume box, the Cloud II USB sound card, or the CloudX in-line volume knob), carrying case, or extra ear cups (you can order replacements for $10 from HyperX). However, my headset will never leave the house (no case needed), I have a a high end MOBO w/ Creative Soundblaster Cinema3 onboard (no USB sound card needed), my keyboard has a volume control (no volume control box needed), and I can quickly adjust the volume/balance through the XBOX menu (no inline control needed). The headset supports mic monitoring through the XBOX controller 3.5mm plug (can't use the stereo adapter if you want this feature - you need the full chat pad or the Turtle Beach adapter for mic monitoring). The Core fit all of my needs. If you absolutely need the other things I listed above, then by all means. But if you find yourself in a similar situation as myself, then the Cloud Core is perfect.

Comfortable. Solid built. Decent sound. No mute.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing you notice about these headphones, is how comfortable they are. They claim to have "memory foam" around the ears and headband. It behaves more like conventional foam, but they definitely feel comfortable, especially coming from my Logitech G430s, which had a fabric earpad. They also don't hurt the top of my head the way G430s did. The HyperX Cloud Cores are also very quiet. They don't have noise cancelation in the ears, but because of the snug fit, soft vinyl, and foam, they form a good seal around your ear that makes things much quieter. One aspect I really like, is that the frames are made out of a solid piece of aluminum. All four pairs of my kid's Logitech G430s broke before the warranty expired, and all around the pivot point on the ears. Many headphones have this plastic pivot frame, which just isn't strong enough to prevent breakage. The sound quality is decent. You get crisp highs, and deep lows. Not amazing, but definitely up to par, in my opinion. Although it comes with no USB adapter, the surround sound seemed to work fine, when I played headphone test videos, but there doesn't seem to be any way to customize the sound experience. While using the headphones on Discord, my kids could hear me clearly. I also traded them, and listened to them talk from my headphones. It was about average, in my opinion. It didn't really seem any better or worse than my G430s did. One thing these headphones lack, is volume control on the mic. Also, the microphone is detachable. It's not like other gaming headphones, where you just flip up the mike to make it quiet. If you want to mute yourself, you have to unplug the mic. If there's some other way to do this, I haven't figured it out yet. I'd rather have an inline mic volume control. I guess this detachable mic is supposed to appeal to people who want to use these as regular headphones, for listening to music, without walking around with their mic sticking out. The headphones come with no software, whatsoever. I went to the HyperX website, and found nothing for this headphone. They had firmware for the Core II, but not this one. This means it shows up on your computer sound system as "external speaker". I'd like it to recognize the headphones and show it by name. I know you can rename "external headphones", but then anything you plug into the 3.5mm ports will probably show up as that. It also does not come with a USB terminal for plugging into your computer. You plug one 3.5 mm. jack in to the mic plug, and the other into the headphones plug. Overall, I'd say the comfort and build quality is excellent. The sound quality is pretty decent. The microphone is average, but has no volume control, or other built-in way to mute yourself. I'm expecting these will last much longer than all the other plastic-framed headphones that seem to break after a few months.

Best of the Best
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's no surprise that in any major esport out there, you'll find pro players wearing this headset. Comfort: Even with the aluminum frame, this headset still provides a great deal of comfort while you're wearing it, and doesn't have the "break in" period that I've experienced with some headsets, where wearing them for too long will actually cause aches. I've got a giant cranium, and it still fits well and hasn't caused me any issues in that department. Sound: I've owned a handful of gaming headsets since switching to PC, and I'd have to say this is probably the best sound quality I've had out of a headset. The earmuffs' noise-cancelling works extremely well, and the in-game sound is very clear, allowing you to pick up on things that other headsets wouldn't allow. Value: While this headset is more expensive than most other entry level plug & play headsets, it's worth every penny. It's durable, comfortable, has great sound, and it's usable on all the major consoles. I play on PC and Xbox, and taking the headset from PC to Xbox couldn't be easier. I've been a fan of HyperX for awhile now, and this headset further shows me the quality of their products across the board. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the market.

Tried literally EVERY DIFFERENT SET, the best for$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ABSOLUTE BEST SOUNDING headset out of EVERY SINGLE set Best Buy carries in the </=$150 price point! Just Comfortable as the arctic 7’s too, without having to constantly retighten the head straps. No inline volume, but once u get it where u like it it doesn’t really need one inline. I bought a turtle beach inline soundcard and it works great (surprisingly) connected via the controller on PS4. Lots of great bass and still lots of background noises. Easy to hear people coming up around u in FPS games! All I play. Tried alphas, cloud2, stinger, every turtle beach(great sounds uncomfortable on ears tho), Arctic 7’s, manowar, Logitechs and the list goes on. The cores blew all competition OUT OF THE WATER in all round comfort and best of all sound! Get em while thy are cheap! Bc they are bound to nerf them or raise the prices when they realize

Great comfortable headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased for my 15-yr old son, and he stated that this headset is extremely comfortable and has good feedback with the detachable mic. He uses with PS4 but the optional cable does provide PC connectivity. The headset is "wired" however, it's wired to the PS4 controller which is wireless. So far, there hasn't been a huge degradation in battery life to the controller. Even then, the controller can still be hooked up to a charging cable while playing. We had no issues in setting up audio preferences in the PS4 settings menu. They're extremely good with noise-cancelling too as they cover the entire ear and provide immersive sound. They are no audiophile headphones, but they serve their purpose well. Lastly, the black/red design "looks cool". That's important too. right?

Amazing headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly i don’t know how i would only wear my default mic with my PS4. They do an amazing job canceling out sounds so if you have a child or other priorities in your home I’d recommend keeping one ear open. They are extremely comfortable as well. I wear glasses and usually deal with discomfort when anything presses my ear against the frames, not with these though. Mic quality is well also. Comes with a sleeve to go over and the mic is detachable and adjustable: so if you have a natural loud voice you can turn it away from your mouth if needed . Sound quality is on point as well. I play Overwatch and when i have enemies on my left or right, it gets sent to the side they are on. If you’re thinking of purchasing i would definitely pull the trigger on these . I wouldn’t recommend the wireless just because of battery issues and delay as well.

HyperX Headset
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say: I am not a heavy gamer. I bought these because I needed a quality set of headphones. My friend who is a heavy gamer has the next model up. He highly recommended these to me. I have always had success with the HyperX/Kingston brand and so I decided to try them out. I am very satisfied with their sound quality as well as their ability to silence background noise. I get ear problems when I travel on long car rides more than an hour long. I wore these while watching a movie on my way to a family cabin over 8 hours away. I never had a problem, so that problem was also solved. Great product and would highly recommend the product family to everyone!

Good Mic Quality and Decent Audio
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a budget headset it is really good. The quality of the mic is really clear when my brother is using it in Discord. Not also the audio is perfectly fine for playing any time of shooter or game that requires sound awareness. However, it is not the best if you are trying to second it as music headphones. It can pass but I would recommend something else. Overall, it is a really good budget headset, especially if you catch it on sale.

Q: QuestionHow do you mute the mic or do I need to purchase a Hyperx amp adapter?
Asked by Suelou277.
- A:Answer The mic is detachable, and there is no inline control for muting or adjusting volume. If there's some way to mute the mic, other than pulling it out of the socket, I haven't discovered that yet. I guess the benefit is you can use them for listening to music, without looking like a nerd.

Q: Questiontitle is misleading. Works for Ps4, nintendo, Xbox one, PC, and Mobile (if headphone jack)
Asked by answeringmyownquestionforothers.
- A:Answer The headphones come with two options for connecting to your device. You can either use a single 3.5mm jack, or two 3.5mm jacks (one for the mic, the other for the headphones). If your device has 3.5mm. jacks, it should work.

- A:Answer Yes you can buy new microphones. A friends dog ate ours and we were able to replace without replacing the entire headphone set.
