Good impact freezer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This freezer is a perfect fit for a small size room in kitchen or dining area. This holds quite a bit more food than I anticipated. Runs quietly and I hardly know it's on. Temperture keeps food cold and frozen. I have had no issues with it thus far and for the price I am impressed. I have owned this for 2 months. I recommend this product.

NOT energy efficient.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You know I read EVERY review here and all the well spoken ones were praising its energy efficiency! I wish ONE of the other owners would actually verify it's claims. Short Answer: Specifications Claim 172 KWh/year (Div 365) = 0.47KWh/day. Reality: Full freezer brought to temp -18C(minimum recommended for deep freezer) for 24-36hrs, then monitored with a power meter, consumes 2.3KWh/Day. ie: $88/Year to run vs $18 reported on the big EnergyGuide notice. Ambient Room temp was 72F. There are no unexpected sounds or other issues with this well appearing unit, I expect there are no problems with it otherwise. Nice feature is the thermostat has a refrigerator setting! I wonder if they gave its energy rating based on it being a fridge. The drain plug is in the bottom of the unit, a pan is required to drain/collect water. This could be good to plumb a drain outside, if used as a fridge. I really like the look/function, but I can't use it if it's taking as much power as it appears to be. I will be returning this one, but not sure if I should waste my time testing a second one. I need this for off-grid project I am planning and it's doing MUCH worse than a similar freezer I tested from 2002(which took about 0.8KWH/day). Please you freezer reviewers do independent power tests, get yourself a "Kill-A-Watt" meter or similar(there are other makes out there just as good). --- My notes: Igloo - 5.2 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer: Model: FRF452 12:30pm Dec 12th, Ambient temp around 75F, Freezer about -18c; 25lb/3 gallons of solid/frozen ice in middle. 12:30am Dec 13th, Ambient ~75F, Freezer: -18C > 1.14 KWh after 13hrs: 12:30pm Dec 13th, Ambient ~72F, Freezer: -19C : 1.67Kwh after 24hrs. Freezer at temp(-18c), stuffed full of 7 Gallons of water, 7Gal/water, 2 Gal sugar, and other mass, powermeter reset to 0. 12:00pm Dec 14th, Ambient ~72F, Freezer: -18C : 0kwh 12:37am Dec 15th, Ambient ~72F, Freezer: : 1.24Kwh after 12hr 37min 12:16pm Dec 15th, Ambient ~70F, Freeser: -21C : 2.38KWh after 24hr 15min; runtime of meter also. before it said 17hrs in 24hr peroid. 1:15am Dec 16, Ambient ~72F, FReezer: -20C ; 3.58Kwh; Still testing, but I don't expect it to change at this point. Will post again if something reveals itself.

Perfect price and perfect for the job.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was purchased for use in a college dorm. The amperage fit the criteria, and we bought a washer 'drip pan' in case of leakage. The room inside was enough to provide frozen food and dinners for my daughter and her roommate for the entire semester. Freezer is quiet and efficient and looks good, too. Priced less than similar model on sale at either Costco or Sears.

This is an excellent freezer for a small family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Me and my wife bought this freezer because we needed just a little more freezer space than our refrigerator provided. We also needed a freezer that was small enough to fit into our dining area without looking bulky or out of place. This freezer was the perfect size and the price fit our budget well. We have never bought this brand before so I guess time will tell how it holds up. But for the meantime, it's working as it should and freezes really well.

Not all sunshine and lollipops
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We just needed something to take the load off of the dinky freezer on our refrigerator and be able to stock up. We did not need something huge, and we only had a couple of hundred dollars to spare. This unit is working out great, except after a few weeks it would not freeze food--it would keep it at refrigerator temperature. I unplugged it for about an hour and plugged it back in, and it's been working great since. I suspect that it may be because we have it in the garage, and it has been at least 90 degrees everyday since we bought it, and some days in the 100's, so I wonder if its little compressor had been running continuously and just could not keep up and needed to rest a bit. So I'm keeping an eye on it, but so far so good. Otherwise, I like that it has a light to show its plugged in, and a light goes on when the compressor is running.

Perfect size and quiet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far very little frost, was worried about manually defrosting but no build up so far. Like how quiet it is and the size is perfect for me. The price was great for a basic freezer.
