I wasn't expecting much. Even the installer told me not to be disappointed if it doesn't meet my expectations. He called and said my car was ready but wouldn't tell me the results. When he turned it in he said "wow" his helper and him was shocked and for the price and being so compact! Let see how long she holds up!

Tight, punchy, low-end bass. Very good low-pass x-over filter - sounded truly good even at the upper end (needed to take the pressure off my 4 ghastly OEM paper cone woofers, after which the bass really complemented them, and sounded just lovely with the 4 tweeters). Exactly what I needed in my Passat sport sedan. Added more than enough thump to my music. Lasted almost exactly 4 years, which is what the tech said I should expect.
Trunk room intrusion is minimal.
Cons: Wish I had teh crossover filter on the remote as well, instead of only the gain control. I hear Kenwood subs have both.

Six years ago I installed a Basslink in my 2004 Chevy Blazer ZR2, which is the 2-door version. I wanted a little better bass output, nothing that would make quarters bounce on my hood, but just enough to improve the sound inside. Also wanted to preserve cargo space in the back and had no interest in obnoxiously large sub boxes. The Basslink fit my needs. I did the install myself; was relatively painless. It fit in the back corner of the cargo area and doesn't take up much space at all. It's also durable - being in the cargo area, it takes some abuse but is well constructed. The speaker grilles are metal; the case is pretty solid plastic. I was able to drill straight through the carpet and floor; sheet metal screws have secured it tightly.
The bass production is tight and clean and exactly what I was looking for. The amp has all the features I needed. I didn't have to use the remote gain controller, as my head unit already has a sub output with line level controls.
For 6 years, the sub performed perfectly, but just this week the amp finally gave out. Considering my other experience with powered subwoofers, the amp lasted a lot longer than I expected. The smart guys on Crutchfield's online forums have figured out which parts typically fail inside the amp and have tips on how to replace them for very little cost, but my solution will be to buy a small external mono amp and hook into the sub. I did this with a powered subwoofer for my home stereo after its amp failed, and it worked fine.
Overall, it's a great value; however, do your web research...there are a lot of people who did not get 6 years out of their amps.

I have an 06 Jetta with premium sound. The built-in amplifier in the Jetta does a good job with the mid's and high's but lacked in the bass department (like most other cars).
I am a huge audiophile, and was constantly missing the bass in my stock sound system. I read up about the Basslink, and was very apprehensive to install it, since it looked really small.
The Basslink has two 10inch woofers in it. One of them is a powered sub (backed by a 200 Watt built-in amp) while the second one is a passive radiator which is just a woofer not backed by an amplifier. The purpose of the second non-powered woofer is to use the air pressure to move itself, as a result creating more bass sound. Usually these passive radiators are expensive and thus most subwoofer enclosures do not use them.
Now for the sound. Man, was I shocked. That little thing produced amazing clean bass sound. It completed the premium system. Now keep in mind, I do not listen to much hip-hop and this is not your system if you want that earth shaking bass... Nope for that you gotta install 2 10inch or 12 inch subs and get a really powerful amp, and of course spend twice or even thrice the money, and give up your trunk!
I do listen to a lot of Rock, Trance/Techno/House and Jazz music. The Basslink made all of my music and even XM radio sound so much better!
Do not let the size of the basslink confuse you. Trust me on it, the device can penetrate the trunk and is def worth the price!

The sound that comes out of this system is quite unbeliveable. If I have the windows up and the doors closed, the sound inside is beautiful, and the outside annoyance is minimal! It will rattle you inside if you like that sort of stuff but mainly I listen to whatever, and even country produces some great bass and sound.
I had Best Buy install the system as well as my new deck and couldn't be any more stoked by the service and the product.
By the way I put it into a Toyota 4runner, in the trunk space in back, and have plenty of room. I also switched the screws it came with out and switched them for butterfly nuts, for easy disassembly if I need the space!

I own one of these and it's been great. I've heard that a lot of them fail I'm just wondering if those that fail, are mounted vertical or horizontal ??? I think the amps loosen up when mounted upright. It just shakes to much. Let me know . Ps...keep them tightly mounted.

I've owned two of these units over the years, The first one lasted almost two years the second only one year, Awesome quality sound till the amp drops dead, The design of this unit is great very compact the passive radiator design is awesome for that hard bump and bass, The problem with the amp is being mounted inside the enclosure it takes a hard hit from the bass and bump and causes the boards to come loose get hot and fail, in the second unit I bought they tried to glue the boards in to prevent them from coming loose,SORRY INFINITY IT DIDN'T WORK ! If you a own of one of these don't trash it pull the amp remove the heat sink use it as a pattern to make a cover plate out of laminate board to cover the enclosure hole, drill your holes in the board and use the existing screws to mount it, Then head to Best Buy and pick up a Kicker ZCK44 harness kit and a Kicker CX600.1 amp to mount to the side of the enclosure it fits perfectly. drill you speaker wire hole and mount it all up. IT SOUNDS AWESOME AND STILL COMPACT !

unbelievable bass from a compact enclosure. Easy to mount and very easy to control with the enclosed remote volume knob.
I would not recommend a bigger subwoofer to anyone other than a rapstar.
