    Synopsis

    Insidious
Saw franchise veterans James Wan and Leigh Whannell team with Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli to give the familiar haunted house story an exciting new twist with this tale of a family that moves into an old house and begins to suspect they are under siege from otherworldly forces when their young son inexplicably falls into a deep coma. As devoted parents Josh (Patrick Wilson) and Renai (Rose Byrne) struggle in vain to uncover the root cause of their son's condition, the stress of the situation gradually begins to take its toll on their once-strong relationship. Later, when darkness falls and specters appear to reach out for them from the shadows, the frightened parents realize they're dealing with powers beyond human comprehension. Barbara Hershey and Lin Shaye co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Longtime since a movie scared me like this one.

I went to see this in the theater, not sure what to expect. But the reviews were pretty good and I thought I'd take a chance even though I didn't like Paranormal Activity, which was made by the same guys who made Insidious. I didn't think Paranormal Activity was scary at all, in fact, it just planed sucked in my opinion! But this one made up for that loss of money. It truly is scary, but in an old fashioned kind of way. The movie doesn't use computer generated special effects or gore to scare you. It has somewhat of an 80's feel to it, including the music. It goes to show you that sometimes a good plot, prefect scare tactics and timing is all you really need to get a scary movie right. I haven't been scared like this since I was 13. I'm now 35, so it takes a lot to get me scared. This one is a winner and will be part of my blu-ray collection.

The Blu-ray edition of Insidious is great! I got this on sale after Halloween and could not be happier. The film is 4 / 5 stars, so the extra features and crystal clear audio and visuals made this a great film to purchase on sale. Beware though that not many extra features are included, only: -Horror 101: The Exclusive Seminar -On Set With Insidious -Insidious Entities Highly recommend this product if you are considering buying Insidious for the first time on Blu-ray. If a fan of the series though you may want to search for an alternate collection of the 3 films which may include more bonus features.

When i first went to see insidious i thought it would be a horror movie just like the other ones. But i went to see it it was terrifying without the blood and gore that all the other movies have in them. James Wan sure knows how to make people jump every minute without ruining the plot. what really got me in this movie was that the house wasn't haunted it was their son. this made it way different from the other movies. to me this movie is worth seeing.

PG-13 horror movies are not something I gravitate towards, but after hearing Insidious (and The Conjuring, another James Wan film) were worth looking into, I thought I'd give it a shot. Yes, there are tons of jump scares, but Wan creates a mood of unease that sustains throughout. The third film was part of a "buy one, get one", so once I've seen the second, I'll check that out, too.

This movie is really cool, and fairly scary at the same time. The only things I thought were intense were the screamer popups by that demon looking darth maul thing, but otherwhise, it wasen't that scary. If you get really scared, or all of a suddenly spas out, of unexcepting popups, DO NOT WATCH THIS! Overall good story. Also at the end, there was something that made me wonder, but I'm not going to spoil it. I think they might come out with a part 2. Thank you for reading this, and enjoy the movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Best horror movie i've seen)

The movie that started the entire Insidious chapters; it holds nothing back in terms of creepiness and scares. Much like James Wan's The Conjuring, the storytelling portion of the movie, along with the incredible actors and atmosphere, provides the spine-chilling experience. Fans of The Conjuring should thoroughly enjoy Insidious!

This is one of the best horror movie I have every seen. It scared me from beginning to end. I was truly freaked out for the whole movie. I had chills running up and down my spine. I had nightmare about that little boy that night after watching the movie. I'm not one to scare to easy but, this movie did for me. The ending totally gave me goosebumps. I hope there is a part II.

This film has originality and surprisingly interesting plot moments. This movie is different when compared to many horror movies because of the way it tells the story. It has jump scares and freaky moments that build up due to the scary music. It has characters that make the film feel alive and appealing. Great horror movie.
