Limited HDMI’s on TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Bought a Samsung Series 7 HD 4K Tv. Only problem is that there is only two HDMI ports. I have Apple TV, PS5, Xbox Series S, & Nintendo Switch. So the minimal HDMI’a posed a problem. I ended up plugging all 3 consoles in to this and it works great. There is a button in the front right corner to switch between devices. Works great

A Much Appreciated Peripheral for my New TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This is a much appreciated peripheral for my new TV. I do a lot of gaming and wanted to hook up multiple consoles that run at 1080p to the TV. This splitter allowed me to accomplish this. It's nice as I can configure the picture settings for all three devices to one HDMI port and then toggle between the three devices using the button on the splitter all while not having to plug and unplug my devices from the TV multiple times. I like how there is no remote with this device as I have plenty of devices that run on batteries now and appreciate not having to add another such device to my setup. My complaints with this device are pretty small but it would have been nice had it came with an HDMI cable for hook-up to the TV. Since it didn't, I had to get an extra HDMI cable when i purchased it which was an unforeseen expense. It also needs to be plugged in which is a relatively minor complaint but it does take up another spot on my surge strip. Finally, the blue lights on the front of the device are on all the time which can be a little obnoxious at times. Overall, I am very satisfied with this device, though. Thanks.

Great TV but needs more HDMI ports!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I love this TV. Picture quality is outstanding. One thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that it only has 2 HDMI ports. I have to use a Firestick for my local streaming service as they do not have a supported app on Samsung. As I have a sound bar as well, that leaves no ports for any other external device. I got a switch box, but when I turn on the Firestick from the switchbox the picture setting (e.g. natural, standard, etc.) that I set it to does not kick in and the colors are washed out. Once I open something on the tv then the picture setting kicks in and is OK when I go back to the Firestick. To avoid this I have now plugged my Firestick into the 2nd HDMI port and unplugged the switchbox with the bluray and region free DVD players. If I want to watch a disk then I will just switch them out (the picture issue doesn't seem to be affected by the players). A pain, but as I don't use the players nearly as much as the Firestick, no big issue. Also - having trouble connecting to my Alexa. I see the tv in my app but when I try to connect it says it can't. Same issue when trying to sync up with the Firestick so it may be something I am doing wrong. One more thing. When trying to install, the Best Buy guy couldn't attach my sound bar to my current mount as the holes for this TV are higher up than my old one. Keep in mind you may have to get a new mount too depending on your situation. It was too late for me to do this so I went on Amazon and found a book stand that works really well to hold up the sound bar (see photo).

Very Useful Product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is exactly what I needed. My TV only has two HDMI inputs, but I needed to plug in more things. This plugs into one of the inputs and gives you three. Very simple to push the button to switch between inputs, even for an someone who is not tech savvy like myself. This product completely eliminated the annoying need to unplug and re-plug between whatever I needed to use. I used two Command Strips to adhere it to the back of the TV, but it could probably be adhered to the bottom as well if your TV is mounted to the wall. 10/10, great product.

Works great for my needs!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I didn't even know a product called a "Switch" existed until I started doing Google and YouTube searches to solve a problem I have. Most users probably have one laptop/computer and want to output their screen onto 2 different external monitors. In my case, it's the opposite. I have 2 different laptops but only 1 external monitor to use. One laptop is used for my work related apps. The other laptop is used for personal stuff. I don't want to mix my work and personal stuff together on the same laptop. In order to switch back and forth having 2 separate laptops connected to the single monitor, I would have to unplug one HDMI cable from the first laptop and plug in the other HDMI cable for the second laptop. This would be a physical hassle and too much trouble so I don't do it. But lo and behold, this Insignia 3 Port HDMI Switch device perfectly solves the answer to my dilemma. With all the HDMI cables properly connected into the Insignia Switch, I can now simply press the "SELECT" button which cycles through the HDMI selections of up to 3 different HDMI devices. Since I only have 2 laptops connected to the Switch, the 3rd selection is left blank in case I need to expand in the future to add something else. So my 1st laptop is connected to HDMI selection #1, and my 2nd laptop is connected to HDMI selection #2. If I want to view the screen content from either laptop 1 or 2, I can simply press the physical select button on the switch. There is a usually a few seconds of wait time for the new signal to appear on the monitor after pressing the select button, but it's much better than the physical time consuming work of having to unplug different HDMI cables back and forth. Plus my monitor is 4K including one of my laptops, so the Insignia Switch is able to support the 4K resolution. Before coming across this Insignia Switch device on Best Buy website, I almost got one of those $10 knock-off no-name switch devices from Amazon, but I read reviews that they are cheaply made. This Insignia device is very sturdy and well made and I have confidence it will last quite awhile. 5 stars for this device for solving a problem I had for many weeks!

Q: QuestionWhat is it for, or what can it do?
Asked by Ra.
- A:Answer It's a splitter, but in reverse - it takes multiple HDMI devices and allows them all to port in to this device, then it only has one HDMI port from it to your end source - generally a television. This way, you can have three separate devices that only utilize/consume one HDMI port on the back of your end device/television. So theoretically, if you have four ports on the rear of your television, and utilized four of these devices that can handle the input from three other devices, you could have 12 devices ported into your television through four HDMI ports. Hope this makes sense - I'm only on my first cup of coffee.

Q: QuestionCan I connect to my PC to two monitors?
Asked by Henry.
- A:Answer Not simultaneously. This is designed to allow you to switch inputs to one monitor rather than multiple monitors to one source. Hope this is helpful!

Q: QuestionIf I buy the Insignia 3-port HDMI switch, how do I change from one function to another? Also, what doesHDR Pass-Through mean? Thanks, Sukie
Asked by Sukie.
- A:Answer The little button on top switches the different inputs. HDR pass through means it will also send a HDR signal through to the screen provided that the screen actually has HDR function.

Q: QuestionInsignia™ - 3-Port HDMI Switch with 4K and HDR Pass-Through - Black If I buy this switch, and already have a cable from my Ruku, a cable from my DVR and DVD and of course, a cable from Verizon, what other cables would I need to use the above?
Asked by Sukie.
- A:Answer You are describing 3 sources of video signals. Each of these has to have HDMI connectors or adapters that will be the video inputs to the switch 1, 2, 3. The unit is supplied with a power source and its miniature connector. The remaining cable that you require is an HDMI cable that takes the 3 port Switches output signal/connector and goes to your TV or display device. The output cable is the one that you will need to complete the hookup. This unit is very compact and works quite well.

Q: QuestionDoes this actively boost input signal or just passively re-direct the input signal to output?
Asked by Ty.
- A:Answer It just redirects the hdmi output from you source to tv
