Good NON-overclockable CPU
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good processor that runs cool with my Corsair H80i v2 cooler. Wasn't interested in overclocking so I picked up the base 10700 rather than the 10700K. If you are looking to overclock, buy the 10700K, as that CPU is unlocked whilst this one is locked. Plays games without a sweat and rarely goes above 50% CPU usage while playing demanding games at 1440p ultra. Pair this with a good GPU and enough RAM and you've got a monster gaming rig!

Fantastic Processor
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very solid processor. Quick, responsive and easy to install. With proper cooling and proper bios selection, this processor can maintain its 4.6GHz all core boost consistently(will have a much higher power usage)

Strong performer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it's been good to go! I made a super mini computer so no room for an external GPU. The integrated graphics have been super great displaying a really good gaming experience on my LG OLED tv

This CPU is a diamond in the rough!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The capability of this CPU is amazing compared to the previous generation i7 9700 in multithread workloads. It has become an amazing value particularly to gamers and power users who are willing to tweak things. It retains gaming dominance over AMD and is nearly as good as it's 10th generation K series Intel counterparts in gaming workloads. However, the numbers can be misleading. In stock form, it is severely limited by the Intel CPU cooler. By simply adding a better CPU cooler you will see a boost in multithread performance because it will not throttle due to heat. With a proper cooler, this CPU becomes a valid alternative to AMDs 3700x and 3800x for content creators who need strong multi-thread performance. Keep in mind this is not a bad thing the processor was designed to this as a method of protecting itself and staying within the advertised 65-watt TDP. If however you have a large well-cooled case and a robust aftermarket CPU cooler you will get significantly improved performance because it's able to do things like maintaining turbo frequencies longer. Before I continue, for any of what I am about to say to apply you need a serious aftermarket CPU cooler and a well-ventilated case. Intel recommends a water cooler. I am using a Zalman 135 mm air cooler and it works but could be better. Recently, Intel unlocked some of the capacities of these CPUs and motherboards like mine an ASRock Extreme4 Z490 allows you to bypass the stock power settings. It's not overclocking but it allows you to change the TDP of 65 Watts up to the 125 watts that 10th generation K series processors use. With the limit set to 125, I am getting all cores at 4.59 Mhz and hitting a single-core turbo of 4.76 after making the necessary adjustments in my BIOS. In benchmarks, I am getting as much as a 25% boost in performance and my multicore capability is almost as good as the i7 10700k. For example, my Passmark Performance Test CPU score is almost 19,000 and my single thread score is over 3000. In Cinnebench R20 I scored 4756. These numbers are awful close to the i7 10700k and better than last year's i9 9900k. This CPU has become an amazing value for gamers who want strong multi-thread capabilities, or content creators who want a CPU that can also dominate games around a 300-340 dollar price point.

Awesome!

Best value (when on sale).
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does anyone else feel like their in the Twilight Zone referring to Intel as the value option? Anyways, if you can get this on sale ($250-275) it is a considerably better deal than Ryzen for a few reasons (and with a few caveats). 1) I got mine at $250. The 5800x is $420-450, so you can literally get this AND a decent B560 board for the price of just a 5800x. 2) Intel is less picky on Ram. I went 3600/CL18, but anything above DDR4 3000 will give you good performance. 3) Nearly all B460/560 and Z490/Z590 boards allow the removal of power limits, and B560/Z490/Z590 allow memory overclocking. This gives you nearly 10700k performance. 4) Temperatures are less spikey than AMD, probably due to the much larger die/nm size spreading the heat out more. 5) Very close to 5000 series on gaming, straight up better than 3000 series. 6) Lots of headroom, CPU utilization is crazy low in many games. I was updating Flight Sim, running HWinfo, updating Steam library, and playing WoW at the same time and I was just under 20% CPU utilization. Caveats 1) Stock cooler is simply insufficient with power limits raised. You can get a cheap Ares or Vetroo V5 cooler for like $20-25 that will keep this in check. 2) Playing with power limits is a bit above beginner level, but if you're building a PC it should definitely be within your wheelhouse. Google will guide you to the proper resources. That's it. The pros vastly outweigh the small caveats for me. I never use stock coolers anyways (other than Wraith Prism which is decent) so that was a cost coming either platform.

Q: QuestionHello - is this processor still powerful enough to run all the games super smoothly? I want to get the K series but is it really much of performance difference ( will i notice it in gaming assuming i have a 2080 RTX) i dont care about overclocking
Asked by peter.
- A:Answer With 8 cores and 16 threads and with a boost clock of 4.8GHz, this CPU plays games smoothly at 4K and 1440p ,assuming you have an adequate GPU. Overclocking with the K version of this CPU can be beneficial in certain circumstances such as video editing and other CPU intensive programs, but not so much with pure gaming. The Non-K version will play games just fine.

Asked by KEIFFY.
- A:Answer Hello Keiffy75, the Intel Core i7-10700 requires a motherboard with a LGA 1200 sockets and 400 series chipset. The Gigabyte GA-H110-D3A has a LGA 1151 socket with 100 series chipset so it is not compatible.
