George died not long after recording this. Audiences don't hear this kind of material from anyone else. I will miss & treasure his uniquely cynical yet logic-based perspective on life's inconsistencies. Nobody delivered a more side-splitting list of oddities than George. We've all thought of this stuff but we usually don't acknowledge it. He demonstrates why honesty is usually NOT the best policy. On stage in a comedy club is an acceptable venue for the truth but BS surrounds us everywhere else in life. Refreshing! He made marvelously American art, even if he didn't care for the label. He certainly focused his measured diatribes on American discrepancies. I doubt his material would work well in a more globally diverse audience. He makes bold & rarely considered observations on childhood. I wonder what George would have said if he'd been on the flight with 4-year-old 'little Jeffrey.' I gather his clash with the Wisconsin authorities over his 'seven filthy words' got him pondering the pompous swearing of an oath on a Bible and his many hypothetical variations. He also has a bit of naughty fun contemplating what to do after a funeral. I gather he understood his own ride was about up. George's final masterpiece comes highly approved with his usual cynical reasoned questioning of self-appointed authority. George never did beat around the bush, but here he did take well-aimed unflattering comments on Gov. Bush. From 2008, and they'll never be another comic like him. CraftyIconoclast
