Q: How do I know when the JBL Flip 3 is finished charging? How long does it take to fully charge?
A: Hello, There are 5 battery level indicator led's. When all 5 are solid white the battery has completely charged. This is the battery specifications information. Q: How do I know if my speaker battery is charging?
A: The FLIP 3 has 5 LED "dots" that indicate battery level. If the unit is charging, one of those "dots" would blink showing battery level and charging status. If the speaker is fully charged, all the LED "dots" would stay constantly lit and no other "dots" would be blinking. If the unit is switched OFF the LED dots will go out completely once fully charged. The FLIP 3 will show a blinking red light on the first LED "dot", letting you know that it already needs a charge.

A: Yes, this speaker is nice and loud!!!

A: Yes. If your iPod Nano has blue-tooth (which the newer models do), then you can connect this to your Nano that way. If your Nano does not have blue-tooth, you can always connect the Flip 3 with an auxiliary 3.5mm audio cable.
Q: does the JBL flip speaker ..designed to stand up or lay horizontally???. .
A: It is meant, (designed) for either upright or horizontal. You'll notice that there are 3 leg like things, this is to give the bass drum space to flex so it's not actually laying directly on top of the drum. So yes. Either way is fine, and was actually designed to to rest either way! Personally I think it sounds better standing up especially on a hard surface like wood, or whatever....
A: The charge in my experience has lasted somewhere between 10 and 11 hours. This was at half volume and with a full charge. You cannot replace the batteries, but I guess if you ever have issues you will need to contact JBL. It comes with a USB cable to charge it with your PC or a USB charger. You can even charge it the car with a USB Adapter, since it uses a Micro-USB cable similar to those used by Samsung devices.

A: I haven't weighed it but it is less than a pound. I have carried it in my coat pocket. Battery charger is rated from 100-240 volts input, 5v output. 2000 mah battery on flip2 & 3000mah on flip3
