Synopsis

Escape from L.A.
Escape from L.A. finds Kurt Russell once again in the role of Snake, which he played in the 1981 film, Escape from New York. Los Angeles has finally had the really big earthquake everyone was afraid of, and what remains is now an island. Because the country's ultra-righteous President-for-Life (Cliff Roberton) wants it that way, all the weirdos and freaks that previously inhabited New York in large numbers, and the rest of the U.S. in smaller concentrations, have been quarantined on the island of L.A. The president has Snake taken from the nice, decent prison he was living in for a special mission in L.A. The president's daughter has joined the resistance movement determined to overthrow his one-man rule, and has stolen his secret "black box" (a doomsday machine) to boot. Snake is given a poison which will kill him in a few hours unless he returns to the president for the antidote. His mission is to recover the black box and kill the president's daughter. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

    Escape To L.A.!

Snake is indeed back! In 2013, 16-yrs. after his successful rescue of the president in Escape from New York, Snake is captured into a much more communist-based USA prison and is forced to retrieve a "black-box" that has the ability to shut down the world using electro-magnetic technology. Once given the briefing and a bit of lethal motivation, Snake is given the opportunity to have a full pardon for his crimes by heading to "The Big Orange" in search of the president's rebellious daughter, who is responsible for the loss of "the box". Great movie! Check it out:)

well what can i say about escape from l.a it is a sequel to the classic movie escape from new york and it is not no where near as good as escape from new york but escape from l.a is a pretty good movie and a not bad sequel to the classic first one but well worth watching and owning on blu-ray so if you want a fun no brainer action movie than watch escape from l.a too bad it bomb at the box office bc i read that if it was a hit that there was going to be a third one but since it was a bomb we will never see a third one

If you like Escape from NY you will like Escape from L.A. same movie premise but with a new location, I personally love these movies just because of the environment and characters. It's not Shakespeare but it's a fun watch when you're in the mood for some cheesy action flick.

'Escape From New York' wasn't a stellar film, but it had a dark & cool feel to it. This sequel, titled 'Escape From L.A.' seems to be nothing more than a knock-off remake of the original, only not nearly as good. In fact, it's quite awful. No bonus features on this disc, which is fine because it doesn't deserve any.

This was an ok movie when it came out in the '90s. The special effects look really bad now though. This was worth watching if you really like Escape From New York. You can watch this to really appreciate how good that movie is.

I purchased this at Best Buy for a very good price. It is in excellent condition and I had not seen it elsewhere for a lower price. Those were two of the main selling points for me.

A great follow-up to "Escape from New York". It's great to see what John Carpenter thinks of Los Angeles, and continue on with the dystopia he started so many years before.

It isn’t nearly as good as the first fi, but you’re going to get it because you want both films.
