Great budget dash cam
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This dash cam is a overall good entry level device. Comes with a 16gb sd card which is nice. Has lots of nice settings like park mode, speed, date and time readout. Nice clear image. If you want something that can protect you without breaking the bank i think this kenwood dashcam is the way to go! Image in photo does not represent actual image quality, phone shutter speed distorted image.

Can’t stand the heat.
||Posted .Good image quality and features, but not mage for tropical climates. Mine melted the support due to sun heat in April, in Houston. Wish they would use better quality plastics or other thermally stable compounds.

Great Camera for driving
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. The car camera is very good at the morning. Night time the anti-glare isn’t that good. The street light create a little glare. Regular lights at night time and store lights are fine. Post a picture at night time at wawa.

You’ll be surprised what you capture
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Had it just a week and already I have learned that it is okay to make a left on red (even from the straight lane) as long as you use your blinker!

Great Purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I am totally satisfied with this product. It's affordable, practical and great quality. This dash cam captured a lot of road activities during our drive. It will always remind you to reformat the sd card, i dont know why. You can download videos over usb cord to your laptop or wireless through your phone. This dash cam is good paired with 256GB or higher sd card. Easy hardware installation. Software can easily downloaded through app store. I just loved the software, it has a gps too.

Good but annoying
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. It works except for when it starts giving you a repeated reminder to reformat your SD card. I have no clue why it does it. Im only assuming when the SD card is full, it starts deleting old files but it will tell you to save important files and reformat the card. Really annoying.

Q: QuestionI installed this camera in my car and went a long trip turned on, but it seems that only stays on for 5 minutes, is this the ay it supposed to work?
Asked by FRANK.
- A:Answer If you have the screen set to turn off after 5 minutes it will go black. There is a setting to set the screens “on” time so the video does not distract you while driving. I have mine set for 2 minutes then the screen blacks out but the camera is still in and recording.

Q: QuestionDoes it record how far around the front car. Since I don’t see front and rear recording
Asked by hkh.
- A:Answer I don't understand what you're asking, or if it's even a question. I can tell you that after just a week of having this camera I witnessed a wreck at night. The video transferred easily to my phone for highway patrol to view, and it was a very clear picture (again, at night). Below the video it displays the time, date, and location (via latitude and longitude) of the incident. The picture is about 170 degrees in front of you. Meaning, it will record basically everything you can see through your windshield. It does not, however, record behind you.

Q: QuestionDoes it need to be plugged in for power or does it come with an internal rechargeable battery?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It does need to be plugged in to power. No internal battery, which I believe is to help reduce heat. There is a mini-USB port at the top of the device, so if you keep an extra cable in your vehicle, you can pull it off the mount and plug it in with the cable to view it while you hold it.

Q: QuestionCan I connect the kenwood kca- r200 to it?
Asked by Blessed.
- A:Answer i recently purchased the kenwood drv a30 and the r200, what i found out upon inspection is that they are not compatible. The r200 is compatible with the kenwood drv a601 because it has a CAM IN port at the top of the caamera. The a301 does not have CAM IN port. Unfortunately the sales rep told me they were compatible.....I will be returning the rear camera.

Q: QuestionDose it have to be always plugged in all the time? Or it has a chargeable battery inside?
Asked by Med.
- A:Answer It has a battery in it but the battery has a pretty short run time and is primarily meant for use if someone hits your vehicle while it is parked to record the event. For normal recording, it needs to be plugged in.

Q: QuestionDoes this camera have night vision recording capabilities?
Asked by Db.
- A:Answer Yes. Gets glare from streetlights and headlights, but it's unavoidable.

Q: Questiondoes installation void my new cars warranty in any way?
Asked by Rakkasan1.
- A:Answer It should NOT void your warranty unless it was found to be the cause of an issue that otherwise would've been covered under the warranty. With that being said it also states that any aftermarket modifications that are made will indeed void the warranty if they are the problem, I'll use this as an example. If you have a warranty and you go and have aftermarket exhaust put on the dealership will have to have unequivocal proof that shows the installed exhaust was the problem, then and only then will your warranty or a portion of it will be voided. If they cannot find any evidence that the installed exhaust was the problem then your warranty is still valid and the dealership is obligated to honor it until it runs out. This is covered by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which was established in 1975 which ensured that sellers of consumer products clearly state the coverage of warranties. So your best bet would to not hardwire to your car and just use the car plug that way you'll have piece of mind and if something does happen the dealership can't try and blame it on a hardwire issue, because they're known for trying to blame owner for things they've had nothing to do with. This is how I have my dash cam set up right now for the same reason, glad I did to, the motor in my window went and they tried blaming my dash cam until I told them it's not hardwired and they should find the real problem.
