The Klymit Cross Canyon 4 Tent is durable and stable, yet lightweight. Four campers sleep comfortably beneath the stars – the 49 square feet of floor area and rectangular freestanding style of the tent allow flexibility in designing a variety of suitable sleeping spaces. The tent’s design eases set-up and tear down. It features heavy-duty polyester materials and aluminum poles. When the time comes to pack up, stuff the tent back into the Cross Canyon mat, which serves as a mat and a roll style stuff sack. If you are hiking, the tent adds 10 pounds of trail weight to your pack.
A: I use the 4 person tent for car base camping. It is too heavy for backpacking at 10 pounds. This is a well designed & sturdy tent. It comes with a full rain fly with multiple tie down door points which expands outside storage & keeps the rain off when exiting the tent. It is tall enough to stand in and can be set up easily by one person. The mesh interior walls, vents and fly door tie backs allow for excellent ventilation in multiple configurations. This tent checks all the boxes for base camp. The only con I have is the storage mat. While it is a good concept to lay the equipment on the mat during set up and takedown, it is time consuming to roll the tent up correctly to fit back in the mat. I bought a cheap waterproof stuff sack to use instead.
