Fab Soundbar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having purchased a new 60” TV for our new home, we needed a sound system. We selected this sound bar with wireless rear speakers and woofer. We are very pleased with the simplicity of operating and full rich sound of our new system.

Not bad, but.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this LG sound bar for about a month or so and I’m liking it so far, but.... I got a refurbished one for significantly less than the normal price. I would be highly disappointed if I did pay the full price. It sounds good but feel like it could be more crisp. The highs could be better. It does have a few settings you can choose from for your listening, I just feel it could use some tweaking. I’m sure there are sound bars out there that you can manually adjust. But hey, for what it’s worth it does the job. I do like the features of Bluetooth and aux to plug in and the sync feature. It is on the tv in the bedroom and I used the cable that came with it, just in case that doesn’t work. This model and the one above it does have the capability to add the wireless rear speakers. Maybe I’ll add those if the wife lets me. The one thing that did surprise me was the subwoofer. It is smaller than the ones I’m used to, I have a 10” on the main tv and a 12” in the media room, and it isn’t too bad. It pairs very easily and it gives off enough sound to let you know it’s there. You can adjust the level to your liking for movies, regular shows or music. I set it on the floor near where the sound bar is and have no problems. I’ve rambled on enough about this and overall I feel it’s a good enough system for the price. I would recommend it just not full price. Happy hunting!!!

Just okay speakers, but less expensive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These had great reviews, but they are just okay. The price was great, so, I guess you get what you pay for. I bought an LG 49" Smart TV, and thought these would pair nicely, which they do, for the most part. When I turn off/on the TV, the speakers also turn off/on. Both the speakers and the TV have some adjustments to the sound, but the speakers do not have as many features as I would hope for in this day-and-age. You can really "equalize" the speakers, you can only change the settings (i.e.-Cinema, music, auto). Also, these speakers sound a little "tinnie. When I am watching through the Xfinity cable box, they are very quiet, even at max volume (not fun while hosting for football parties). Also, the mounting screws are on the bottom of the soundbar (rather than on the back like most soundbars). I have a wall swivel for the TV (it is mounted in the corner), and I wanted to mount the soundbar under the TV, so they both swiveled. I had to jerryrig some metal bars in order to mount the soundbar to the TV, and due to the screws being under the soundbar, it is not as stable as I would like (it leans down a bit). All-in-all, I will keep the speakers, but if I were to do it again, I would probably spend a little more for better sound and better mounting.

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been performing great for us after performing a firmware upgrade to it. A lot of people are complaining about the audio skipping or not working properly. LG was aware of this and released an update to fix this. Check their website for this.

Great deal for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up while it was on sale for $180 which made this a great deal. If you are someone looking for something better than the built-in TV speakers, but don't want or need to spend money on a "premium" setup, this is likely one of the better choices you can make. Coming from just TV speakers, the Amp can be a bit intimidating, but it does not disappoint. My only complaint is that there have been times when the sound cuts out in the middle of watching something and reverts to the TV's built-in speakers. It's a bit annoying, but rarely occurs. However, this could be an issue with my TV, or the way I separated the sub-woofer so far from the sound bar. Overall, I definitely recommend this product for someone who wants an inexpensive home theatre solution, and doesn't care about having the highest sound quality possible.

Q: QuestionI am interested in this because I want completely wireless. Is it truly wireless (other than power), or is only the sub woofer wireless. does the sound bar have to plug into the tv, or can it be connected via bluetooth? Thank you
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The LG 2.1 ch High Resolution Audio Sound Bar, Model # SJ4Y-S uses Bluetooth Technology (Version 4.1)) so it can be paired to a Bluetooth enabled TV to stream audio wirelessly via Bluetooth. It also has an Optical Digital Audio Input that you can use to connect to the Optical Digital Audio Output of a TV that does not have Bluetooth capability. It has an HDMI input that you can also use to connect to TVs that have an HDMI output on them, and an it also has an HDMI ARC (HDMI Out) port that can be connected to a TV that supports the HDMI ARC functionality and allows you to send audio to the TV or from the TV via that port using the same HDMI cable...^IFV

Q: QuestionCan someone help me with how to do the firmware upgrade? I contacted LG because my soundbar is cutting out. They tell me there is no update and no known issue with the soundbar.
Asked by Roxy.
- A:Answer Is the sound bar actually cutting out or is the subwoofer just cutting out? I thought mine needed the firmware update too because my subwoofer kept cutting out but it didn’t. I actually figured out that my wireless router was too close to my subwoofer and was interfering with it. I had to move my subwoofer to the other side of the entertainment stand.

Q: QuestionI have a Samsung TV that's less than 2 years old. Will it work with that and Chromecast?
Asked by Lacey.
- A:Answer It should. I use a Roku for streaming TV and I plugged the Roku into my extra HDMI port on the TV and plugged the soundbar into the HDMI Arc port on the TV. I'm sure you can do the same with your Chromecast as I did with my Roku.
