A: I have recently accepted delivery of this refrigerator. I, too, was interested in this question: so I used an infrared non contact thermometer. I have found that the liquid items I've stored in this compartment are at an almost identical temperature to those in the general interior of the refrigerator. I have my refrigerator set at 40 degrees F (recommended) and further found that this temperature is pretty much identical when measured. I.E.: at a set of 40 degrees it IS 40 degrees. Although I've been using this refrigerator for only a few days. Storing frequently used items in the door in door is quite nice.
A: We have the same model and have the same exact issue of ice, not frost, accumulation on the clear plastic freezer drawer. It doesn't matter if the time of year is low humidity (winter) or high humidity (summer). The ice is very annoying. There is no typical rubber seal of older refrigerators. This refrigerator uses a V shaped projection of the main pull out chest drawer that fits into a mating groove in the refrigerator. There is no positive seal, so moist air will find its way into the freezer. The first thing the air entering the freezer sees is the top of the clear plastic drawer, so its moisture content will freeze and accumulate. Count on seeing the drawer front covered in ice and the contents of the drawer covered with a light dusting of snow like frost. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose another product.

A: Not sure I have ever seen external ice without water. We bought this refrigerator last month and love it. No issues with the water or ice maker. They did warn us it was a smaller than average ice maker but we have 4 people in the house all summer and are having no problems with the amount of ice it produces. When we have parties we would typically by ice anyway.
Q: does the light stay on all the time behind the window? or motion activated?
A: The light is activated by a series of 2 taps to the window area. The light stays on (LED) until a repeat series of 2 taps OR if any of the doors are opened then closed.
Q: Can I get this in silver Stainless steal?
