My only complaint would be the bottom drawer once it is filled, comes off the track easily and it is difficult to line back up even when pushing from the center as suggested.–LGdishwasher
I want to note that I have had this dishwasher for several months now and have had zero issues. The only thing was that the machine does make a sound during the cycle that I was "concerned" about at first. But, then I realized this was totally normal. Overall, this dishwasher is pretty quiet at 48 decibels. The range for dishwasher sounds is 46 to 60 decibels, so this definitely is on the very quiet side. But, it does make a slightly louder sound very briefly in the beginning of the cycle. Otherwise, this d/w has outperformed my expectations.
When I first went about searching for a new dishwasher, I didn't quite know where to begin. When I found that there were appliances available in this beautiful black stainless steel, I'll fully admit that I started to only look at those brands. The black stainless steel is just so beautiful, and I was looking for a change in our kitchen. I scoured the reviews of the other brands and models that came in the black stainless. This was a clear winner to me! We will be replacing all of our appliances (as they die, ha) with this color choice. LG was one of those brands that offered this choice and after the tremendous success with this d/w, we'll very likely stick with the LG brand for all our appliance purchases!
When I started to peruse the features and read reviews on this product, I was nearly sold instantly. The QuadWash feature was the most prominent. The washer on the bottom has four arms that sprays from multiple angles. It absolutely kills at removing any and all food particles you throw in there. Secondly, the EasyRack Plus system allows the racks to be adjusted so you can fit in nearly any size cookware. In addition, you can customize the washing power on the racks for mixed loads.
There are NINE different wash cycles to choose from. That's a lot, in my opinion. Not that it's bad, but I have honestly only used the Auto cycle so far. It was hard at first to not be tempted to rinse my plates and dishes before putting them into the d/w. But, I swear, there has been no left over residue and I was left dumbfounded. Now, I stick just about anything in there without pre-rinsing. It's such a timesaver!
The control panel is on the front of the d/w, which my husband prefers, but it is VERY sensitive. It's easy to accidentally touch it where the power button is and it comes on. But, you have to actually hit the START button to activate the machine so this isn't a big deal. We like how the digital display denotes the time and countdown and says "END" when the wash is done.
My husband did the installation himself and had no problems, so I can't comment on professional installation as we didn't need it.
We're very, very pleased and look forward to using this d/w for many years. I also look forward to replacing our other appliances with LG brand items!

We may be a little biased since this unit is so much better than our 20-year-old, plastic tub washer. Now the question is whether this will have the same longevity. Ole Betsy may not have looked good but it did clean and it has worked for years.
Cleaning: A good amount of cleaning settings, but I've always found that I settle on a single setting and always use it since I'm a creature of habit. You can clean zones (upper/lower), do a heavy, normal or quick wash. We mostly put it on auto-sense. Even though it uses more energy to have it heat the water more since we found that it improved performance. The first couple runs on normal saw some food still on the silverware, on the normal run without the extra hot water. Switch to auto-sense and the hot water and haven't had an issue.
Space: There feels like there is tons of room in this. There are some tines on both racks that can be laid flat. On the bottom, this really opens it up to putting in large pots and big bowls. We can fit in so much more than our last machine, so we love it, but this may be less of a difference for you if you had a newer machine.
Drying: No heating element. We wash daily but do so in the evening, so we set it to night dry. We haven't put jet dry in and it has still done an admirable job. Plastic will not get dry since it just doesn't get hot enough. The metal tub will pull the condensation to it and away from the dishes, in addition to the fan blowing through. So if you don't use plastic much, I think you'll find the drying is solid.
Looks: Great stainless steel look. It does show up fingerprints fairly easily, but I don't know how it compares to other stainless steel units.
Value: We got it around the holiday sale time, so I think this was a great value but only time will tell.

My old one had lasted almost 20 years before giving up the ghost. I have a smaller than average space and it limited the number of units I could use. I settled on this one for various reasons, but ultimately it was the best available in my price range.
PROS:
--It is so quiet compared to my older unit. I was so used to hearing it upstairs on the other side of the house.
--Yes, the drying cycle is 3:10 with extra dry on. However, I run it overnight or odd hours. No worries. Most dishes are dry. The only issue seems to be my mugs which hold water on top of them. In this case, it is the item in the unit and not the unit itself.
--Stainless steel inside so there is no smell or yellowing over time. My old washer was annoying to clean and smelled. I would have to run a wash with vinegar or finish every other week. There was no reason for this except age.
--Installation: the gentlemen were quick, quiet and professional. Everything was done and I was hovering a bit to ensure I knew what was going on etc. They explained everything, showed me what they were doing and were quite pleasant about it. The main installer actually showed me how to fix minor (super simple) issues should they come up.
CONS:
--The silverware unit is overly large. It ends up taking some space away from where dishes can be placed. I am looking at a smaller piece I can put in the washer itself.
--It is so much smaller on the inside compared to my older unit. This will be an adjustment for me. I have had to reevaluate how I put items inside it as well as how often I run it.
Overall, I am happy with it. If that changes, I will update this post.

Looked good, but VERY flimsy and cheaply made. And it stunk, literally. Smelled weird from the beginning, even though I practically washed the dishes before loading them. Worked OK, not great. Quiet but again, smelly, even after clean. 1st PROBLEM: the door developed rust spots within a few months. Tiny orange rust specs all over it. Warranty service person suspected it was caused by the plastic wrap it came in--moisture underneath during shipping/storage may have caused this. LG insisted this was cosmetic and refused to replace the door. Then ignored my emails. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! If they had offered to do anything, this review may have been slightly different. Even the appliance repair guy talked with LG while standing in my kitchen, explaining the rust problem. It didn't matter how bad it was, LG refused to do anything. 2nd PROBLEM: 2 months after 1-yr warranty (this Nov), computer panel conked out. Thanks LG. You've taught me a valuable lesson. To NEVER buy an LG appliance again. I've gone back to KitchenAid and am amazed at the difference in quality compared to LG. Buyers beware. LG stuff may look pretty, but...quality and service are very uGLy. Avoid the costly mistake I made, having to buy a new dishwasher after only 14 months. dishwasher.

Looks great and has many (too many?) settings to fuss with. My unit malfunctioned about two weeks after installation, code AE, which meant there was a water leak. Well everything seemed dry. But you can't operate it when this occurs. Bummer. And it beeps and the LED lights are on all the time telling you about the error. Only way to stop was to shut off power at the circuit breaker. Warranty repair took about a week to get scheduled, which was not that good. The day before the repair was to happen I turned on the power to the machine and the error code was gone. Go figure. So I called the repair shop and told them what happened and decided that we would use it over the weekend and see what happened. It worked fine - so repair was put off. And then it errored out again in about ten days. The repair person found some looseness in the tub which he tightened up and we haven't had a problem for over two months now. Knock on stainless.
It really is remarkably quiet, you have to listen hard to hear it in the normal mode and it can't be heard from the adjacent rooms. Quite a change from the older GE model we had which almost drowned out the TV in the living room while it was running.
Overall I would say it is a nice item. The factory defect, although minor, once repaired seems to be a thing of the past. I would take a look at this if you are in the market, oh yeah, the dishes are very clean!

Worst dishwasher I ever bought

I will never buy an LG product again. Dishwasher was delivered to the residence with a hole in the drain hose. After setting up the service appointment and having the repairman cancel on me 5 times, 3 times on the day he was to arrive, the part LG ordered came in. Unfortunately it was the wrong part. They reordered the part and when it arrived it was the wrong part again. After a month I was told that the part is not warranty covered. I had to order and pay for it myself. When it arrived and was installed, the dishwasher ran....for about 10 minutes. The display screen went out and the unit would not restart. Called LG again on a Thursday. Was told service would arrive on Monday. Service repair man called Monday and advised that LG never sent the work order to them. Called LG again and was now told that it would be a 3 to 5 day wait to process the work order. Now on hold with LG for the last 35 minutes awaiting a response from them. I've had the dishwasher for a month and have been able to use it for a whopping 10 minutes. I would not recommend this product to my worst enemy. I rated this one star only because I had to as there was no option for negative stars or a zero star.

I researched dishwashers for several months and I finally pulled the trigger on this machine and am so glad that I finally did! This machine met my criteria for the perfect dishwasher...1) It's beautiful, sleek and modern looking 2) it cleans and dries dishes efficiently. BTW all modern machines take about 3 hrs. and there is a quick load, which is about one hour. 3) this machine dries dishes by using fans and evaporation, like the European machines. I did not want steam to exit machine and into my cabinet! (most of the machines I looked at do exactly this, which is crazy!) I guess it's not attractive to have steam vent on the face of machine, where it can't harm cabinets over time. 4) I wanted to have controls and timing display where I can see it during cycle. 5) collapsable tines in upper and lower racks 6) top rack is adjustable 7) quick load option 8) quiet 9) stainless interior 10) smudge proof stainless. 11) $600 range. Look no further, just buy it! I'm so happy I did.

This WiFi enabled dishwasher with quad-washer and true-steam is the most amazing machines I've ever owned. We've had this dishwasher for a little over a week now. We still regularly forget it's running because of how quiet it is!
Love the simplicity of the panel, the number of washing options & definitely love the lighting. We didn't have lighting in our previous dishwasher & I didn't think it was necessary, but it's helpful.
The racks are adjustable with adjustable tines top and bottom, top rack can be raised/lowered easily, and the third rack has a section which also can be lowered if needed!
We have never been happier!! Each product displays an elite level of quality and craftsmanship that will not go unnoticed.
I highly recommend LG and will continue to use their products for years to come.

Best answer: I'm not sure what it means, but I can tell you I replaced a 21 year old dishwasher with this model and i do surely miss my old one. This unit will NOT dry your dishes at all without a rinse aid such as Jetdry. I washed 2 loads without using a drying rinse aid, and i also pushed the"extra dry" button...they came out soaking wet. I called LG, they said you cannot go without a drying rinse agent. I sure wish the sales people at Best buy told me. I would have looked for an old fashioned dishwasher that still uses heating coils to help dry along with the optional rinse aid. I have tried a load with a rinse aid, and it was much better.
Best answer: Hello,
This drys amazingly as long as you have the rinse aid in there. Use the overnight dry setting and your dishes come out spotless and dry. Unless you have plastic or anything that captures water. Hope this helps!
Best answer: I almost always use heat dry because I don't like to unload wet dishes. I know this isn't as energy efficient as a cool dry but I just prefer it.
