Q: How much space allowance is there for gas and electric on backside?
A: The gas stove has a full panel on the back and won’t allow the stove to be against the wall. There is no place to put the extra long gas line, so the stove is a couple inches from the wall. Also, there will be a couple of inches of the side exposed since it won’t fit flush with the back wall. See my pictures below.
Q: What is the rear filler that comes with the range?
A: The rear filler is a piece of black trim that runs along the back of the range to cover the gap space to the wall/counter. Make sure the delivery guys attach this during the install. Mine did not and unfortunately I did not notice for a day. The filler for my range was then tossed out with the delivery truck packaging garbage. It took months to get a piece sent out from LG w/multiple mistakes on their part. It was a real annoyance to an otherwise excellent delivery/install experience and a range that we are very satisfied with. Also note that the range does not come with any other type of counter trim. This was a true bummer since I had to order stainless steel pieces to cover the side counter gaps at a cost of over $50. Aesthetically they are not as nice as counter trim built into range as in my previous range but they do the job. LG should look into providing a one piece trim kit that goes around the back and sides. It is necessary.
A: Both ovens can be used at the same time if desired.
Q: I love the two oven concept but can you actually cook a 15-17 lb turkey with this oven?
A: Depending on the shape and size of the bird, you can fit up to a 20 lbs. turkey in the LG 6.9 cu. ft. Slide in Double Oven, Model # LTG4715BD. ^CP
A: There are range ovens that feature technology that is similar to LG's ProBake Convection but with names such as 'Pure Convection', 'True Convection', or 'European Convection'. Typically for ovens that feature convection baking modes, the heating elements are in the top and bottom of the oven cavity and a convection fan in the middle of the back wall in the oven cavity. The fan circulates hot air inside the oven to create a more even temperature throughout the oven cavity and cook food faster than a traditional oven. In LG Range Ovens that feature LG's ProBake Convection, the heating element is placed around the fan so that the air is heated as it circulates throughout the oven. That is a feature that is often included in high-end brand ovens. As implied in the title description, the LG 6.9 cu. ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled Gas Double Oven Slide-In Range with ProBake Convection® and EasyClean®, Model # LTG4715ST features LG's ProBake Convection®...^IFV
Q: Is the broiler a fire hazard in the small upper oven?
A: This oven is designed for closed-door broiling. Broil uses an intense heat radiation from the upper gas burner. The Broil function works best when broiling thin, tender cuts of meat (1" or less), poultry or fish. Do not use a broiler pan without a grid. The oil can cause a grease fire. Do not cover the grid and broiler pan with aluminum foil. Doing so will cause a fire. Always use a broiler pan and grid for excess fat and grease drainage. This will help to reduce splatter, smoke, and flare-ups. Never use a broiler pan that is not thoroughly cleaned and at room temperature. If your broiler pan is damaged, warped, or has heavy permanent soiling, consider replacing it to reduce the amount of smoke you experience during broiling. Opening the door turns off the broil burner during broiling. If the door is opened during broiling, the broil burner turns off after five seconds. The broiler turns back on automatically once the door is closed. Q: Are the stove knobs easily removable for cleaning?
A: Only the range knobs are easily removable as a normal stove is. The oven control knob doesn't seem to be removable.
