Would buy another!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially went in to buy a larger Samsung smart, 1080p, tv for my "movie room", but came across this tv as an open box item. I was blown away by the images in the demo reel. I went back and forth about whether to purchase because I don't have cable and the 4k Blu-ray player hasn't been released; needless to say, I purchased the tv. When I purchased it, Best Buy was also offering free mounting service with the purchase of a mount, so I took advantage of that. I love the magic remote! When I initially got home, I thought the remote was not working (user error), so I called LG for assistance. They sent me a new remote overnight at no additional charge. Using the remote and accessing menu and tv options has taken some getting use to, but it wasn't rocket science and it's really cool to show off. The image is really clear and the sound is great - no need really for external speakers. The tv is so thin, that I wish I'd purchased a larger screen size to fill the space I have, but for the price, I'll definitely keep it. This tv has everything I expected it to have and I'm sorry for my disloyalty to Samsung, but LG has a new customer.

Love the Magic Remote. Wish there were more apps.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV is great, and we love the Magic Remote, but there aren't as many apps as we'd like. We have cable internet, but we dropped TV and landline service, so we rely on apps for content. We've had the TV for about a month. First, the good stuff. We bought this TV for the Magic Remote. My wife hates using arrows on a remote to navigate, but she liked the way our Wii worked. We found out the Magic Remote was similar, so we jumped on it. You point the remote at the TV, and a curser moves around the screen as you move the remote. If you want to select something, you point at it and click. We love it! The scroll wheel is less awesome, but useful. The voice input is pretty good, but we don't use it much, probably because we don't think of it. The resolution seems great, but I'm not an experienced user of large HD TVs. The images are more clear than we're used to, and that was distracting at first, but not so much anymore. We haven't really pushed the sound levels, but for our use, it's been fine. We don't game or watch much sports. We've watched a few action movies, and I don't remember thinking that the sound was substandard. We planned on getting a sound bar but haven't yet. Our one negative, so far, is the lack of apps. The TV is great for the big ones, like Netflix, Hulu and YouTube, but there are some that we get on Roku that aren't available from the LG Store. Mainly, it's individual channels that we're missing. We watch a fair amount of Comedy Central, and we couldn't find it in the LG Store. We had a Roku on another, non-smart TV and liked its functionality, so we bought a second unit for this one, and it works great. We have Comedy Central again! We need to remember which apps are on the TV and which are only on the Roku, but that's not a big deal. We could use only the Roku to select content, but we prefer the Magic Remote to the Roku remote, so for now, we're switching back and forth. By the way, as of this writing, you need a TV subscription to access full episodes from the Comedy Central app, but when we got the Roku, we hadn't yet cancelled our old service, so we were good. Setup was easy, but I'm pretty tech savvy. We connect to our router via wifi. The Roku plugged into an HDMI port. We haven't tried any of the USB stuff. Attaching the stand was easy. We plan on wall mounting it sooner or later. The TV is pretty light, but carrying it around by myself was awkward. It's a lot easier with my wife to grab the other end.

Easy to set up, great picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to set up. Great on HD channels, but regular channels don't look any better. Looking into getting a Blu Ray player with 4K upscaling, just to see if that helps give movies an extra edge. Definitely needs a soundbar, but most TVs anymore have terrible speakers. When you first get it, the factory settings make even HD channels look like a cheap soap opera. To fix it, go to Settings > Advanced > Picture Mode Settings > Picture Options > TruMotion. Turn the "De-Judder" all the way down to zero. Makes a world of difference! All that out of the way, it's a great picture, especially on HD channels and Netflix (love having Netflix and Youtube on this smart TV...and wi-fi set up was a breeze, too). Just need to upgrade our accessories to match the quality of the TV.

Great with preset settings
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever watch a crime or horror show and you can't see anything in the dark areas, this is the TV that will show true darks. I was happy to see more on this TV. There will be some reviews of people complaining about the screen was too dim. This model has preset settings for the screen as well as an auto dim feature. Watching a sporting event, the setting brightens what you need. Does the brought screen bother you in the evening, turn off the lights and let the TV do the auto dim. It doesn't take away much from the picture but your eyes won't strain. The changing of screen settings is extremely easy. Best Buy hauled away my old Mitsubishi 37" box TV. They claimed that a certain device was needed to haul the big TV away, when in reality it was 2 men with a body strap that was tied around their torso/shoulder and was roped to eachother making a harness. This was a Christmas gift for the house so I was hoping to enjoy opening the box, screw in the leg stands and everything else. Its part of the delivery for the TV to be revealed, and turned on to be sure there is no damage on the product and it functions as it needs to. Hooked up the digital antenna to the TV and allowed it to do the scan, then was able to change channels while they were here to verify everything was good. They did call ahead to give me an estimated time of arrival, since it was scheduled for a 2 hour window. They were fast, efficient, in and out in about 20 minutes. This was not the Geek Squad that showed up. This was a 3rd party company due to having to haul my old box TV away. The TV is 4K unfortunately for living in the middle of no where the only internet service I have is satellite. Netflix works well, great picture for sure, but I'm no stranger to buffering. This is the same for any of the internet apps on the device. I like the headphone jack on the TV. I have a Bose speaker I hook up to the TV and its great. The speakers in the TV are nice, but I like a floor vibrating effect for certain features. I love the remote to this TV. Its like the Wii remote, or it makes you feel like Harry Potter with the wand effect. A TV guide is available to show me the different shows and channels. I can also talk to the TV. Give it a command of 1 or 2 words to go to "settings," "internet,"or whatever the little pop up window shows I can say for the TV to take action. There is a 3D button but this TV doesn't support that feature. I don't mind since I don't own any 3D movies. I can sit 2' - 10' from the TV or on the side viewing it from an angle and there is no change in the picture or color. This is my 1st big screen TV at 60". I'm more furious and disappointed the price dropped incredibly for the 65". I would talk with Best Buy about the price chance but my size of TV is no longer available, so they won that one. Best time to get a new TV is in February due to newer models need to be out on the floor by March. I did get the Geek Squad warranty because these TV's can last up to 10 years but anything can happen. So this TV has its perks. I really enjoy watching the darker screened shows like Bones, Law & Order, and Netflix American Horror Story. The TV serves the simple purposes I wanted it for. Watching the older shows of Night Court or M*A*S*H will not have a better or sharper resolution/image. This is because of the older equipment used for the recording of the shows and there has not been a high demand to enhance the picture. No complaints here. What I hate the most is the advertising emails Best Buy keeps sending me. I never received them before getting the TV. They are as bad as spam. I mainly went through Best Buy just for the perk of them hauling away the old TV for free along with the free delivery (on TV's 50"+). Its hard to recycle larger TV's without paying for it. I shouldn't have to pay to recycle and help the environment, yet this was the best option I had. I am happy and content with my choice in this TV.

Great 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great 4K TV. I read many reviews and compared this tv to many other brands while in the store. The salesman kept steering me towards a Sony, but in my opinion this has a better picture, it's bigger, and it was the same price. I've watched a few 4k broadcast shows and I'm really impressed with the picture quality. My only complaint is that the magic remote is limited and won't control more than 2 devices. I ended up buying a harmony remote to control all my devices.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.went in to buy a 1080 TV but the salesman showed us this one and we absolutely fell in love with the picture quality and the features he showed us; the pricing was excellent; brought the TV home and it looks great; not much 4K programming out there however the total quality of the picture has improved so much we can't wait to see it when 4K is widely available; excellent purchase
