Well-Rounded Smart Watch
||Posted .Having previously owned a couple Pebble smart watches (both the original and the Steel), one of my main complaints was that clearing notifications on the watch would not clear them from my phone; I would have to unlock my phone and manually clear any notifications I had, even though I'd already seen and acknowledged them from my watch. This also applied the other way around; if I opened up a notification on my phone, it wouldn't necessarily clear from the Pebble. Not really a bad thing, per se, but still an annoyance nonetheless. Since the LG G watch runs on Android Wear, it has much tighter integration with the OS itself, allowing for two-way notification syncing. Once you open or clear a notification on one device, it'll also clear on the other! The screen itself is pretty vibrant and colorful. Brightness is adjustable by six steps, and even at the lowest brightness the screen was easily readable. When the watch is in idle mode (black and white), the display isn't overly-distracting or bright - I'd consider it a good middle ground for what it is. The voice recognition is pretty powerful and accurate. Certain apps, like Gmail and Google Hangouts, support replying directly from the watch itself, either through simple pre-made canned responses or voice replying. I love using the voice commands while I'm in the car to start up a playlist from my Google Play Music account (saying "OK Google, play Amnesia by Justin Timberlake" will play the song and at the same time creates/plays a playlist from your library or All Access account ). There's a whole slew of voice commands available, and I've been finding myself using them much more frequently out of sheer convenience. Having used the watch for just under a month now as of this writing, my only complaints would be the surrounding the battery life and the charging cradle. I'm a relatively heavy user, so the watch typically only lasts me about a day and a half. It's not that big of a deal-breaker, since I understand that it's still a first-gen product and I don't mind having to charge my devices everyday. However, the fact that it only lasts a day and a half basically means that I have to carefully consider when I'll need to actually charge my device since the charging cradle is proprietary, meaning that I'd have to also potentially carry around the cradle with me. (FWIW, Google does offer extra cradles from the Google Play site now!) I purchased a metal band from another website to replace the stock rubber/silicone band. The watch looks amazing with a decent metal band! Also worth mentioning: at the time of this writing, there aren't any model-specific Zagg Invisible Shields for this watch. However, if you're looking to protect the glass screen from scratches, I did find that the Zagg Invisible Shields for the Samsung Gear 2 watches fir nearly perfectly on the face of the LG G Watch! (See included picture) All-in-all, if you're seriously considering jumping onto the wearable tech craze, then you won't be disappointed with LG's offering!

LG - G Watch
||Posted .This a wonderful product. My company recently started a no cell phone work policy out on the floor. So the G watch allows me to view my calls and text from family and friends. Without violating company policies. Its sleek and has a long battery life.

5 stars for a 1st gen device in this new market!
Posted .Allows me to keep my phone in my pocket - fewer chances to drop it. Always-on display is surprisingly bright in dimly lit rooms. I'll probably need to turn it off when I visit a movie theater. Google Voice is responsive, and dependable. Apps at Google's Play store you MUST have: http://goo.gl/qAH0Hi http://goo.gl/Op9UVU http://goo.gl/9hYXub Battery lasts all day with normal to heavy use. I always said it would take something special to get me to put down my trusty G-Shock. This watch, understated as it appears, is something special.

A little expensive- but a quality item.
||Posted .For a first of its kind item, I think LG did pretty well with this. People have complained about viewing it in direct sunshine. I really have had any problems there. The only real short coming would be the battery life. Although I expected that. And like my cell phone, I charge it every night (more in the case of my cell actually). I've had issues with the compass needing to find it's bearings here and there. And I don't know if its the platform, my phone, or the devices fault, but I've experienced a somewhat loss of connection quite a bit. What I'm referring to is when you speak a command, you'll get a disconnected message. It will usually go through the second time around though. All in all I like the product and would recommend it to a friend. But I might also recommend they look for a used one to get it cheaper- now that there are more models showing up, people are probably dumping this one. I'm sticking with mine because I bought it for testing purposes anyway. And as far as I know, aside from extra sensors or a round display, this will do the same all the same stuff.

A real time and phone battery saver!
||Posted .I love getting all my notifications on my watch. Receiving and replying to text messages or emails from my watch is a major time saver. Its got a certain Buck Rogers feel and the act of talking to your watch may have others thinking you've lost your marbles. From shipping notifications from Google Now to Facebook chat notifications they all show on my watch. One of the most useful is live traffic updates on my work day commute letting me know if I need to leave early to make it to work on time. I also really enjoy being able to play, pause and skip forward and backward through my music wireless from my watch. The G watch has a rather basic look but its easy to customize it by replacing the band with any 22mm watch band. You can also customize the watch face with the included faces or use one of the many apps in the google play store to build your own custom watch face. The watch battery itself only last a day and half so it is a nightly charger however an unexpected side effect of using the watch I turn my phones screen on a lot less extending the battery life on my phone. I do wish they made the screen brighter because under full sun it is difficult if not impossible to read. it is visible outside on most occasions but you may find yourself shading your wrist with your other hand to read the face if you want to check the time at high noon. Overall I'm really enjoying the experience.

Good overall
||Posted .Battery life is good - I can get two days out of it between charges *if it doesn't lose connection with the phone*. If the phone and watch get separated and the watch has to keep hunting for it, figure one day max. Still, that ain't half bad. The charging dock is kind of cool - it's magnetic, so just drop the watch in and feel it grab. Unfortunately, the watch is square and it's just as easy to drop it in facing the wrong way (not upside down; rather, rotated 180%). It'll fit right into the dock but not charge. Oops. Screen is somewhat small but that may be a feature if you have small wrists - you won't feel like you've got a hubcap strapped on. Screen is bright enough and is pretty responsive to touch. The microphone is decent; I had no trouble getting 'OK Google' to consistently recognize what I was saying, even in a room with some background noise. It's in a kind of chicken-and-egg situation right now as not a lot of apps can utilize it.

Wonderful auxiliary to phone. Battery life short
||Posted .I used to take my phone in and out of my pocket 80-100 times a day. This device has reduced that by about 3/4ths. Expect new apps daily but the limited number currently available is very useful to me. My most used app is Hangouts. Also, love the turn by turn directions displayed on the watch as I'm navigating to a destination. That alone is worth the price. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. So much so that my wife is getting one once she can upgrade her phone to the Galaxy Note 4. Only shortcoming that I have is that I've found it so useful that I run low on battery by the end of my work day. Otherwise .... BRAVO! .

A very good Android Wear Watch
||Posted .I love my LG Watch. I came from using a Sony Smart Watch 2 and I have to say is a huge difference. First thing to tell is the weight, this is so light you can barely feel it. I like the voice commands, while they are not perfect and when you say something "listens" something different, most of the time gets it right and is easy to let's say place a call. My car is old and does not have a bluetooth integrated so is very convenient when I'm driving to talk to my watch by saying "ok google, call home" and my earpiece is automatically connected without any distractions or even taking my phone out of my pocket. One thing I found it's missing (or maybe I have not been able to figure out how to do it) is to read text messages on it. Any text received say "SMS received" but it does not display from who or the content of the message while my old Sony Smart Watch 2 use to do it without hiccups. So far I love the watch and I would recommended has many great features and is very useful, battery is good but not awesome, could be better.

Q: Questioncan i use any apk on android wear?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No, they must be specifically written to run on an Android "wearable" device, but there are a lot of them out there, and more every day, many of which are ported from the full android platform to the wearable.
