Reliable for several years

I've owned several of these over the years. They will honestly last about 2-3 years before they start having a "double click" issue (the button will register single clicks as double clicks every so often). However, during those 2 years, it's been one of the best and most responsive mouse I've ever used, and is able to work on different surfaces. I've tried other mice on the market and always ended up returning them and buying one of these. It's priced well enough to warrant purchasing a new one every few years if you can get it on sale.

I chose to buy M525 as a consequence of balance between price and quality. Magic Mouse is a little expensive for me to purchase. M525 is compatible well with my Macbook pro with Retina. I feel very comfortable to use it. No problems till now.

his Logitech Wireless mouse is unquestionably the best mouse I've owned yet. My previous mouse was also a Logitech, although a rather inexpensive optical model. After several years of use one of the buttons was very nearly worn out, but apart from that the mouse worked quite well. Considering even Logitech's base model offers that level of quality, I have no doubt I'll be using this mouse for years to come. For starters, it's more responsive than my previous mouse. It takes less physical movement of the mouse to click what I want on the screen. It's also slightly smaller than mouses I'm accustomed to, being a laptop mouse, which makes it easy to stow away when traveling.
The scroll wheel contains "more grooves per millimeter", which means it's easier to scroll through webpages, as the wheel movement is quite fluid and without the slightest resistance. The box claims the mouse can work on any surface except glass and mirrors, and I've certainly found this to be true as I often use the mouse without a pad. Since the mouse operates on 2 AA batteries, there is an on/off switch as well as a sleep mode to save power. The USB receiver is small enough that there's no need to remove it from the laptop, as it fits almost flush into the the port with just enough sticking out to remove the device. If for whatever reason you choose to remove the receiver between sessions, there is a slot to safely store it within the mouse next to the batteries. I've enjoyed this mouse so much I'm currently using it with my desktop computer. Highly recommended.

I love this mouse - bought this to replace an old one that had become glitchy. It's no gaming mouse, but for everyday use it is great. My last mouse had a clicky wheel, this one doesn't - I almost took it back, but I thought I should give it a try and now I much prefer the free wheel. Battery life is good - 2 batteries rather than 1 (the first thing I look for), it's fast and accurate and heavy enough to really feel you control it. I have the unifying receivers on each computer and laptop so I can take my mouse with me - it's a small thing but I can work much faster when I don't have an unfamiliar mouse.

The Logitech wireless mouse works great for a travel mouse. Fits nicely in my backpack, connects quickly and with battery saving feature automatically powers down when not in use. Also has on/off switch that is easy to use. Motion and wheels feel smooth and is comfortable in my hand.

I bought this for my wife to use while working around the house (away from her desk) or while traveling, and she loves it. It is wireless and unlike Bluetooth mice, it is ready to use almost instantly. There is no lag in usage and is smooth to operate.

Good price, dependable and perfect for laptops when you are often on the go and traveling, worked really well with my windows laptop i had for work. Bought them for all student computers and office computers at work. I hated always being surrounded with wires and trying to hide them from guests because it is ugly. This allowed such sleek and modern abilities. As soon as I used the first one and knew it would run slow or have any glitches for being a wireless mouse, I bought the remaining computers all one. Comfortable grooves, clicking and scrolling features. Runs off of the most common battery (AA or AAA can't remeber) and it lasts a long time. It will stop using the charge once idle for so long but never took a long time to wake back up. This is the best mouse to invest in for companies with many computers and schools that have computer and research/study labs for students because they can last a lifetime. If you lose or break the connector for back of computers - once used for another mouse can be used as soon as you plug in - it will recognize the nearest mouse and begin to control automatically. For public places - the only issue i had is that people would steal mouse since it can easily fit a pocket and not attached to wires and wall but most people would forget the piece attached to computer. BIG PLUS FOR ME was that the small attachment was able to fit and be sealed in an opening made underneath the mouse so that way you can transfer, move, package etc. in an organized way without fearing you will lose the attachment.

A:AnswerThere are three "buttons", one of which is the scroll wheel. Check out the Logitech Quick Start Guide for description of the buttons. http://www.logitech.com/assets/42322/m525-quick-start-guide.pdf. The buttons can be programmed.
A:AnswerThe M525 is designed for Windows, Mac and Linux, but yes it will work with Chromebooks as well. You'll just need a free USB port on your Chromebook to plug the wireless receiver into.
