Caseta is awesome!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. These switches are really well made and work great! I have installed 9 so far. I was going to get an electrician but decided to read all the instructions very well and do it myself. I did mix up the hot and load wires one time but it didn't hurt the switch. The hardest thing for me is fitting it all back into the wall box. If you take your time with each wire and push it as far back as you can spreading them out evenly as possible, the switch will fit just fine. I use Homekit (Apple) for my automation setup. It works great. I like being able to tell Siri what to turn on/off. Or use the switch itself and the app to control our lighting. We like to keep outside lights on at night so I just have them automated to turn on and off at sunrise or sundown. If you enjoy playing around with automation like I do, these won't disappoint. I installed the first switches I bought about a year ago and still working great so far.

Connected an out of reach outlet
||Posted .Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This works great, we hooked this to an outlet that is out of reach for easy access. Now I can turn lighted decor on and off in my nook above the tv.

Great wireless light switch
||Posted .I have had these installed for a while now and they work flawlessly while maintaining an elegant appearance that fits into any surroundings. I have integrated them with my SmartThings Hub and Alexa and also added a Pico remote (sold separately) paired to this switch to create an additional light switch where it is impossible to install a physically wired switch. In short, with the Caseta system, you can get around decades-old lighting dilemmas just by switching out a decades-old light switch, and you can do it yourself in about 15 minutes.

Top-Notch Homekit switch!
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I have had many different brands of Homekit switches that I've tried over the years and have had varying levels of success. These are a little bit more expensive than some of the brands out there and they require a hub (included if you get a starter kit) but they work flawlessly, are super easy to setup, and worth every penny. I will slowly begin swapping out all my other Homekit switches with these.

Perfect switch to compliment my smart home
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Perfect switch to compliment my smart home. Decided to go with Lutron after experiencing some minor issues with wemo switch that was starting to get annoying having to reconnect it back to Apple HomeKit for whatever unknown issue that I couldn’t figure out. Have not had the same issue since switch to Lutron so I’m happy.

A Great Alternative to the Dimmer
||Posted .Over the past couple years I've upgraded most of our switches to the Caseta line, primarily using the standard wireless dimmer with pico remote. However, that basic 2-wire, 2A switch does not always work properly with some LED equipment, and it has been frustrating to be unable to connect those lights (in my case some recessed LED fixtures) to the smart home controls. Enter this 5A, 3-wire solution!! While it does lack the dimming capability of the standard dimmer, the addition of a neutral wire and increased peak load (for startup of the LEDs) has finally allowed us to connect these pesky recessed lights. So, if you want to dim your lights, skip this, but if you need broader support for LEDs that didn't work with the standard Caseta dimmer, check this out as a great alternative.

You'll need to connect the neutral wire in the box
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I've almost replaced every switch in my house. I love these Caseta switches. Paired with the bridge I can control lights with Amazon Alex. This on/off switch without dimmer can be used to control a ceiling fan/light combo (the one with one switch and a pull chain to turn the light and fan on/off from the unit). Those type of lights draw too much power to use the dimmer version of the Caseta switch. I learned this the hard way...installing the other, then when the weather got warm and I turned on the fan, it sounded like it was taking flight and flickered. Be forewarned, you will have to connect the neutral wire in the switch box (the white wire) in addition the the red and black ones used on a normal switch.

Q: QuestionHI I need a Lutron Caseta Switch MODEL NUMBER PD-5WS-DV-WH (WHITE COLOR). I'm not sure I have neutral wire inside the wall. My model number here and product description, model number looks different. Can I use this switch for NO neutral installation?
Asked by AP.
- A:Answer According to Lutron's product specs, the model number you specify does support installation without a neutral wire, but the trade off is that it has a minimum load requirement that you must meet. (http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/369831_ENG.pdf) This best buy product listing is for the 5ANS, which requires a neutral wire. The NS in the model number stands for Neutral Switch.

Q: QuestionIs this switch for 2 lights or 1?
Asked by BW.
- A:Answer The PD-5ANS is meant to control a single load, either fan or light. It is not able to control two separate loads independently.

Q: QuestionI do not have a smart things hub I have a Phillips hue bridge is that compatible with your switches???? And if it is where do I find in the instructions and how to do it?? I have the following Wall switch.
Asked by Alex.
- A:Answer The Caseta Wireless products will require a Caseta Smart Bridge in order to be used with third parties, such as SmartThings. The Philips Hue bridge is not compatible with Caseta products.

Q: QuestionI have a pull chain ceiling fan that has 3 speeds and can also be turned on/off by a switch on the wall. It also has lights attached to it and there is a separate chain to pull for the lights. Can this work to turn the fan on/off?
Asked by Ihatemyhp.
- A:Answer The PD-5ANS is a digital on/off switch rated to control 5A of lighting or 3A fan motor. In order to use this device in your application, you would need to install the PD-5ANS in place of the On/Off switch that came with your fan. This way you can control power to your fan using the PD-5ANS and cycle through the speeds of your fan using the pull chains. Q: QuestionWhat makes this switch wireless?
Asked by Jello.
- A:Answer The wireless aspect is for remote control using Caseta's hub, which you would have to purchase separately and connect to your home network. The switch itself connects to standard household wiring, but through a wireless connection to the hub you can control the lights from smartphone, operate them on a schedule, etc.

Q: QuestionI have two porch lights, with LED bulbs, connecting to one switch - can this switch handle that?
Asked by Walter.
- A:Answer Yes, the PD-5ANS would be able to control this lighting circuit. The PD-5ANS is a neutral-required switch, so Lutron recommends ensuring you have a neutral wire available in the wall box prior to installation.

Q: QuestionDoes this come with a wallplate?
Asked by BigRed.
- A:Answer No, it doesn't come with a wall plate.

Q: QuestionCan this be used with a Caseta remote to serve as a three-way switch? If so, what remote goes with it?
Asked by Carlvz.
- A:Answer The PD-5ANS can be used in a 3-way application. At the second location, you could either leave the existing mechanical switch or put a Pico remote in its place. If you opt for the mechanical switch, the wiring will need to be altered, and you can view a diagram of that here: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/368-4493_Page_34.pdf. If you choose the Pico remote option, then refer to the wiring diagram here: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/368-4493_Page_33.pdf. For a suggestion on which Pico remote to use, please reach out to our Support Team at support@Lutron.com or by phone at 1 (844) 588-7661.
