Electrostatic Speakers are amazing!
I can imagine that most people don't even bother to listen to these because they look so different from the average floor standing speaker. But I highly recommend taking a moment to audition a pair. The sound is very transparent. The speakers produce a huge soundstage due to the direct and reflected sound from the electrostatic panels. I have a 5.1 setup with these at the front channels and I couldn't be happier with them.

Excellent- pure- crisp
You're not buying an expensive set of speakers if you don't have the right equipment. Lower cost or lower powered amplifiers and processors should not apply here. The smaller martin Logans will do OK with a good receiver, but these wont. The point is, this is an articulate, open speaker with very natural sound. They require plenty of power, and rest assured, if you don't, you will hear it. Within the store, the demo scenario was less than optimal, so know that before you listen. The small square room does not allow the ML's to breath the way they need to. Like a speedboat in a swimming pool. If you have a small room, buy the smaller versions. I find them to be sublime- I listen to all types of music and I like it loud. They will consume an inordinate amount of power, so please overdo what you think you need. I am running a 400W McIntosh amplifier on them and they take it perfectly. When running solely off my Denon 4310 they sounded thin and crispy, but with real horsepower, they need no sub woofer. The low frequency response is fantastic, even on video. The transition between the panel and the woofer is very natural, and seldom do I notice it. Given the right installation, I highly recommend them.

Great speakers! Great buying experience
People who consider buying Martin Logan Speakers know what makes them great. Vivid natural airy sound. I had considered buying the ESLs but found a great deal on the floor model Theos. More expensive, but I tend to keep speakers for a long time (last set for 17 years), so I think it was money well spent. The folks at Best Buy/Magnolia were super. Very helpful.
