Maytag - 24.9 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator - White

I owned my fair share of refrigerators without the best of luck. After several bad experiences I decided to do a bit of research before I purchased another. My research led me to the Maytag Ice2O! This is simply the best fridge I have ever owned, hands down. The french-door design is magnificent providing adequate space in the fridge as well as the freezer. Easy to control digital settings. Alarms to alert you if doors are left open or if the temperature drops too low. I would highly recommend this product to anybody.

If you want a large refrigerator, but don't want a full side-by-side, this is an ideal fridge. The unit runs quietly (compared to my old Kenmore bottom-freezer unit). Other than the LG, this is the only unit with water and ice in the door. The doors open smoothly and the shelving units are good quality. I originally thought I'd have less space than my 21 cubit foot fridge, but by the time I utilized the can/bottle storage, and no longer had to store the Brita pitcher in the fridge (because the Maytage has chilled water), I actually ended up with more space. The downsides are that the freezer lightbulb placement is very poor. If you pull the drawer out all the way, the light-bulb is too far in the back. If you push the top drawers toward the back to reach the stuff at the bottom, they block the light as well. Plus there's a big empty spot at the top of the drawer that they could've put a light or even a little tray for frozen orange juice containers. Other downside is that the solenoid valve on my unit was defective, so it dripped water for 30 minutes after each fill up. Also, ice production is slow (not a big deal for me as I don't use ice that much), and if you have an average size cup, it won't keep the ice from shooting out onto the floor (you need a wide-mouth glass). Also the lack of a crushed ice option is disappointing.

I am happy with the fridge, but.... The icemaker is the loudest thing ever. When the ice drops I can hear it all across the house, so best to turn it off at night. It also does not keep up the pace for what we use. Also, a coke can dropped from a shelf on to the long pantry slide out and broke the plastic window. Even though the plastic window snaps out, you can't replace just this piece. Had to replace the whole drawer door for $25.

Have had this for about 5 months now and I just love it! My family thinks it's THE BEST! You can see everything there is in the refrigerator and there is plenty of storage for meats and veg's. Plenty of room for everything. The freezer is great also. With the sliding trays you can find it all. If you have been thinking about buying a french door this is the one! You will be pleased!!!!! I am!

Loud, pulsating noise when the icemaker is functioning. This product should have more noise insulation. Owner's manual states that there is no correction to this loud operation. My interpretation is "get used to it". Very disappointing with the high cost of this "state of the art" refrigerator.

Great Product works really good and very quiet. Excellent freezer and ice machine.
