Q: Will the washer adjust to fit a 33 5/8 high opening?
A: Mike, you are able to reduce the height by removing the legs on the dishwasher.
Q: Is there a food filter that still needs to be manually cleaned even though there is a food grinder?
A: There is a small food strainer in the bottom of the tub that may need to be cleaned from time to time. This most likely protects the pump from any incidentally small objects like hard food or broken glass or anything else that is small that might otherwise get caught up in the pump. Very easy to pop out and pop back in.
Q: Does this model have a food chopper blade?
A: TiredofDishes, yes, this Dishwasher has a food grinder.
A: Correct, you can not see it and yes you push start and close the door but the light to let you know when it is running and when it is finished is on the front clear to see.
A: It doesn’t have fold down tines on the racks. You can raise and lower the middle rack but that’s the only adjustment. Cycle times: Rinse :23, Quick 1:10, Normal 2:53, Auto 2:53, Powerblast 3:28.
Q: Can the heated drying cycle be turned off, or do you have to catch it and open the door to stop it?
A: Hit the drying button 2 or 3 times, I can't remember exactly, until the drying options turn off before you hit the Start button
Q: Is the middle rack adjustable on this model?
A: GMcR, yes, the middle rack of this Dishwasher is adjustable! Hopefully, this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!
Q: Do you have to use pods with this dishwasher or can you use powder or liquid detergents?
A: suzita, please visit https://bit.ly/3pajAvV and refer to page 4 for more information. We hope this helps!

After returning lemon GE DW we went with this Maytag. My dh & I both had the $1200 Bosch when we combined our households. The Bosch racks are not user friendly & we both had repairs and poor washing experience. My Fisher Pykel was worse. I wasn't thrilled about having a "low end" Maytag in my kitchen. Boy was I wrong! This is a work horse with a third rack (see picture.) We are both cooks & use tons of greasy dishes & silverware daily. We've never used the heavy duty cycle; haven't needed to. Everything is sparkling. It's super quiet & the third rack allows so much capacity. Mid-range cost with top tier (lol, 3 tiers) performance! Six months & not one complaint. Love this dishwasher!

our home originally had a 20 yr old maytag dishwasher in it when we moved in almost 4 yrs ago..fast forward a yr or so later we decided to purchase a Samsung 5650 disher which was discontinued after we purchased it and was a nightmare for entire time we owned it of almost 2 yrs..finally was granted a replacent and was in search of new one.. After doing some homework and looking at dishwashers at local retailer near us my daughter had pointed out a kitchen aide model that looked really good..unpon doing comparisons and who made what..decided on this dishwasher because of it functions and cleaning capability...it happened to be same model as kitchen aide priced $250 more and made at same place in Ohio as kitchen aide n whirlpool just with the lower price tag n maytagvname to it.. THIS DISHWASHER IS SUPER QUITE! Cleans well n efficiently n has a ton of space to cut down on amount of times you have to run ur machine each week..Dishes n silverware come out sparkling clean no residue left behind..hubby n i are super happy with replacement purchase n hubby said i did my homework well.. Whirlpool makes Maytag n Kitchen Aide as well their own brand of whirlpool dishwashers and are all rated amongst top 10 of consumers picks for dishwashers on youtube..remember to support the men n women who build these appliances for us proudly here in the USA.. Very Very pleased with purchase!!!

This Maytag dishwasher which I've had for almost a year, is great overall! Love the 47dBA--it is so quiet you pretty much just hear minor shifting noises. This was important since its location in the kitchen is also right outside a bedroom! The top third rack really does come in very handy for low profile bowls, containers, lids and utensils. Racks are well-designed and the flatware holder removes for ease in putting them away. It cleans super, super well! Using a regular cycle is all you usually need, and it gets dried on food remnants clean with ease (I do scrape or rinse before putting in, but I don't wash every day). I once used the PowerBlast feature for dishes and one baking dish with dried on, baked on sauce that would have been a nightmare by hand---came out spotless!!! You can see time remaining when it's running. I do have to hand wash some mugs with designs that faded when put in the dishwasher, but I think that's normal. The racks are height adjustable which is nice. The only poor design flaw that is annoying is that when you unload you have to start at the bottom and go up because the top rack holds a lot of water in itself (not in the dishes) which splashes on the dishes below. Also, I feel like some items (maybe 1-2 a load) hold water and don't dry as well as the 15-year-old Maytag this replaced, but they spend some time in the sink drying rack which is a fine trade-off for all the pros of this item! The delivery service at the time (Best Yet Installations) was horribly rude and ignorant --argued with me about the filtration feature even though the unit has a sticker on it about it ("No dishwashers have that") and didn't leave a voice mail because "it's 2022 nobody leaves VM" but they also didn't TEXT when they were on their way and the phone call didn't go through on my phone which I showed him and he still argued with me. Luckily, I was home. They did the install though and no problems from the actual work that has come up, but they need a little training in customer interaction skills. And then gave me his card to do other plumbing work--HAHAHAHA!
