Great washer for price. Makes a lot of Noise!

Bought this washer at a great price. It had a lot less features then my previous Maytag, but I was looking for a great deal. It has a stainless steel tub, various fill levels and several wash cycles, even an extra spin cycle option. However there is no buzzer to let you know that it is done. When the washer is done filling up, if the lid is open, it will not start till it is closed. The one thing that everyone in my family notices, is that it makes a lot of NOISE. Maybe this how we will be able to tell when the washer is done. Aside from that I hope it lasts me another 12 years!

I purchased this maytag to replace a old handme down maytag from 1979. After reviewing several washing machines such as a roper, and different brand names with the same or less features i came to conclusion that a washer with a available extra rinse cycle, controllabe water levels, and several cycles to choose from i really couldn't allow my self to walk away from this deal. I purchase this washer, got it home and set it up easily. After flipping it over just to look under the bottom I realize the simplicity of this machine should be nearly full proof. Just a motor and a pump attached to a drum suspended within a small frame. No elaborate configurations or belts and confusing drives. Repairs if required should be as simple as unbolting something and putting a new one on. I also purchased a extra 5yrs of warranty for 80 dolalrs. A stellar deal considering for less than $400 i got a guaranteed working washing machine and great service. The only negative thing about this washer is the noise. It is a little loud, and i'm not totally sure how many rpms it spins the clothes out. But they come out dry enough for the dryer to take over. As long as i get a good 6yrs from this machine i will be adequated satisfied. Thanks maytag!

The washer was a great price the model is very nice. It has an extra large load capacity, It has an extra rinse cycle which is a very nice feature. The only problem I've noticed is that it is supposed to be a quiet model and it really is not too quiet. I have leveled it and installed it properly but it is still to loud for a brand new washer.

Our GE washer pooped out on us so we needed a new one. I did not want another GE ( dont want to support GE and NBC) So we bought this Maytag. We have had this for 2 days now and have done 5 loads. It works great and cleans clothes great. I have read other reviews and people say the spin cycle was loud well let me tell you my old washer sounded like a plan was taking off. This one is quite. The price was great cheapest I found and I checked all the places. We got free delivery set up and haul away and they took the charges of at the reigister it was not a mail in rebate or a gift card. All in all we just needed a washer that works and is quite and cleans clothes good and that is what we got. I woud recommend this to anyone.

I have only had this appliance for only a month but I was pleased to find a low-cost made-in-USA great brand "MAYTAG" appliance that was simple, functional, and adequate. I am an engineer and know the reliability issues associated with appliances that have too many "bells and whistles". Who has time to know and understand all those 30 buttons on laundry anyways? This is a good washer for probably handling 99% of your laundry needs.

Don't be discouraged by bad reviews about the washer being loud/noisy. There are no silent washers on the market. It does a great job of cleaning, which is what a washer is supposed to do. It agitates and gets your clothes clean. It is not super quiet, nor is it any louder than any other washer. If you install it properly it doesn't slide or move. If you want a good washer for a good price, this is the one. Compare this washer to Kenmore, Amana, and GE... This is a great buy, and if you want clean washed clothes, then buy the washer.

I bought this washer in November 2009. I wanted to use it for a while before writing a review. I have enjoyed this washer. The bleach and fabric softener dispensers are great. I also like all the settings options. I would recommend loading your clothes before filling so you don't load to much. Once the wash cycle begins, the washer stops when you open the lid. Over all, I have had no problem with this washer.

Let me be clear: Washing machines are near the bottom of things that are important to me -- I'd rather spend my money on toys -- that said, I do need to get clothes clean every week :(
I was looking for a simple, reliable unit to replace a 17-year old Kenmore which only required one service item ever -- I don't want to spend hours figuring out a lot of high-tech nuances nor do I feel the need to show off an ultra-modern design to make me feel better about spending way too much for what it actually does -- so far, after a few weeks, this one seems to be pretty solid
It IS loud, though -- I had read the other reviews, and expected some noise, so not shocked -- seems that you need to jump several price points to get much improvement with agitator models -- fortunately I have a door on the utility room which muffles the sound well -- when it's loud, I just think about the toys I bought with the money I saved, and all's well :)
