Maytag - 7.0 Cu. Ft. Gas Dryer with Extra-Large Capacity - White

This gas dryer meets all my expectations. It is very quiet and dries everything n less time than our previous one. I especially like the extended wrinkle control.

We've owned this dryer for a month now and still haven't mastered how long it takes to dry clothes. It dries and it is quiet, but we have had to go back and add time on multiple occasions. Initially, I wanted a dryer that was a bit more "smart" (i.e. connected to an app, auto moisture sensing, etc.) but I wasn't willing to pay the premium for a matching "smart" washer/dryer combo--and a broken dryer was the reason we were shopping in the first place so we had to act fast. We have used 2 temperature settings: Medium and High. MEDIUM and a full load for a 70 minute timed dry is never enough. MEDIUM heat and Sensor Dry "More Dry" seems to take forever to complete. I have been hesitant to dry things on HIGH because high on the old dryer was "too hot" especially for cottons. However, HIGH + ENERGY PREFERRED seems safe and reasonable (from a time standpoint) if I am not drying cotton khaki pants, cotton polos, or cotton T-shirts. HIGH is fine for sheets/towels. We reversed the door and, while the process wasn't difficult, the instructions were a bit complex. Plus, it feels like the door now "sticks" more than it did with the factory "right hinged" setting. Also, the middle knob has a lot of resistance and tends to "spring" back a bit when selecting drying options. If I want 60 minutes, for example, the knob bounces back toward 70 when you let go. If you select "less dry" it looks like you selected "energy preferred" when you let go. Lastly, the sloped top (common to nearly all dryers anymore) means you can't set items on top of the dryer. We used to fold clothes and leave them on top of the dryer/washer for the kids to pick up. Not anymore. Everything slides off. It is not that there is anything wrong with this dryer, it is more that there are some quirks and differences I am struggling to get used to, hence the 3 stars.

This dryer is awesome and dries very well and efficiently. My boy left a yellow crayon in his pocket that I unfortunately missed when checking his clothes before washing. The dryer ended up getting yellow all over the drum and after using a magic eraser most of the yellow has since come off and the coating on the drum and dryer and held up great with no signs of wear or peeling or anything. This dryer is great and the options for the drying cycles is good for me I did not want one of those super expensive and in my opinion rather unnecessary options the others have. I did not like how at the end of the sale they nickel and dime you for every little thing like the hoses.

Nice dryer. Large size drum. Good features. Dries well on energy preferred setting too. I just wish the cycle control sensor knob "clicked"at each choice like the other buttons do. It seems as if I am forcing it to move to the cycle I choose. IT is very tight. it does go through the cycle however. I just wish I knew if that is normal . TIME WILL TELL. nowhere in the manuals did it say turn clockwise or counterclockwise.

I purchased on sale at a good price and very satisfied with its performance.

1st. Time it could not be hookup because I had to move the old one had 15 minutes to decide! 2nd didn't go well either the salespeople sold me the Wrong gas connection had to buy a different gas connector. Hookup was terrible with that crinkle exhaust pipe also looked very cheap! I had to pick up gas dryer vent pipe that is smooth inside so it can't catch lint.

I replaced a 20 yr old Maytag electric dryer with this gas one. The controls are easy to understand and I like the larger door and interior light. However I have found that it just doesn't get really hot. It gets quite warm, but not hot. I'm guessing some one decided to ramp down the heat to be more energy efficient, but the net result is that I have to run the dryer twice as long to get clothes dry. Oh and beware - for some reason Maytag decided to make the top slope down instead of flat so if you were use to storing detergent or folded clothes on top of your old dryer, as soon as you turn this one on, the gentle vibrations of the dryer tub spinning will scoot everything off the top onto the floor.

Good quality, had our previous one for many years, disappointed that the door swings from left to right - our previous one was opposit. Created a small problem for our laundry area.
