Just like described, but not that great
It's a pretty decent system, but it does have a few flaws. The surround sound only works if you're playing a DVD, and it has to have been recorded in digital 5.1 sound. If you are watching cable TV or a DVD that was not recorded in 5.1, only 2 speakers will work, plus the sub. It also doesn't have enough component input jacks.
It is a very clean looking system and looks good once set up. The sound quality is ok, but it IS only a 400W system, so if you're expecting a wall of sound, don't buy this system.

Good starter system
Good for the price - speakers are undersized, however; limits ability of system to faithfully reproduce sound picture. Adequate for building system from scratch. Recommend upgrading speakers to at least 5" mid-range with 1" tweeter to provide best results...good system

DONT DO IT
Bought this for a second system so was looking for an inexpensive one. Out of the box it looks good and goes together easily except for the fact that the wires are hardwired into the backs of the speakers. This posed a problem for me as the room is larger than the wires are long. That aside the sound quality was ok. What I expected for the money. My other systen is a Bose 321 so this obviously does not compare to that. The picture is decent on DVD. The sound cannot produce enough bass to be really good, but again we are talking 100 bucks here.
Now the problems. IT DOES NOT WORK. After 1 week the sound was cutting in and out on the radio and tv modes. Only the DVD had sound then that went too. About to start the process of returning so we'll see how that goes
