A: You could use this one. You would have to get a cable from the 3.5 mm jack on this device to USB. It would work fine. However this unit skips a lot so the motion from the car may be too much for it.
A: Yes the memorex personal cd player MPC600B does play audiobooks on cd. That was the reason why I bought it actually.

A: If you stop it, it starts from the beginning. If you pause it, it will pick up at the point you pause it. Pause is for fairly short durations as the disk continues to spin so the battery is will rundown.
