All settings were default except screen brightness was set to 150nits with Auto-Brightness disabled. Wi-Fi was connected to a network. Battery life varies significantly with settings, usage and other factors.

Love my Surface
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Light and sleek with several connection options. Please buy a protection case and a screen anti-glare protector and join various Surface Book groups on Social Media sites like Reddit. Make use of the SD card slot for adding more "more hard drive" space.

Outstanding and versatile workstation.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The surface book 3, so far, is an outstanding computer. One aspect that most reviewers don't emphasize is that it has possibly the most comfortable and ergonomic keyboard on a laptop. In my opinion it is as good as the original IBM ThinkPad keyboards from the 90s. This makes all the difference in productivity especially if one has to work long hours in front of it. The touchpad also is the most responsive pad I've used on a windows computer. Overall I've been very happy with this computer. As some reviewers say, it indeed is a compromise of a device because it has only the Intel 15 watt processor in it. This is the only downside, but being able to have all of the processor and cooling in the tablet portion does solve one huge engineering issue that most laptops get wrong: being able to actually use it on your lap without covering up exhaust/intake ports. This is a big deal, especially on laptops like the Dell XPS 9575. If you have it on your lap, the exhaust ports get blocked by your legs which leads to overheating. On the SB3, the exhaust ports are located near the hinge and are facing upward, so this problem is effectively eliminated. It would be very difficult to cool a 45 watt CPU residing in the tablet portion, so the use of the mobile 15 watt CPU makes sense for this laptop. Still, it is super fast for what it is, and will be fine for most use cases. Of course, the price is totally ridiculous on a level that it is almost comedic, but since there are no other competitors in terms of detachability, total engineering perfection, and overall build quality, it is what your going to have to pay. The lack of reparability is concerning, but if you are going to drop 3 grand on a laptop, it would be wise to go ahead and shell out $300 more for the extended warranty/accidental damage policy. Overall, this is the mobile workstation I've dreamed of and I hope it lasts a long time. So far so good! Way to go Microsoft!

Real buyers look twice than again
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously had the surfacebook pro2 but I got the disconnect of death. That's when the screen constantly disconnect from the keyboard automatically until the screen or keyboard overheats. The 3 is supposedly faster and fixes the past issues. So far I can see that the 3 is faster than the 2 but the 3 run hotter. The display is the best on the market. Cons. Still can't make up grades to RAM HDD or anything else. VERY over price. So why did I buy because I'm a gamer, artist, and engineer. I would definitely encourage you to look at other laptops because one can find something MUCH cheaper. However, if you are able to purchase than it great laptop. (For now)

Overall much improved
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall love the new laptop, ease of use, and larger screen. Unfortunately, the sound system is not working consistently, which is an issue during video conferences during the pandemic. Be aware. Too expensive for early failures.

Microsoft surface
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing computer! I needed a new computer and although it was on the pricey side it was well worth it! It is great for graphic design. The only thing is I wish they made protective cases or some sort of screen protector for it. I searched Amazon and the Microsoft store but nothing. With how much I payed for it I want to protect it.

Great product but ...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product, very versatile, but for most average users this laptop maybe overkill. I decided to splurge on it, even though I did not need all of the power it offers.
