The complete package
|Posted .Such a great pair of cans, great noise cancelling, USB-C, good sound... and easy switch between multiple devices. No it's not the best noise cancelling (Bose QC35), no it's not the best sound (Sony 1000xm3), and no it's not the cheapest. But I owned a pair of Sony and Bose noise cancelling headphones, and I'd rather have the Microsoft ones any day. I had a real preference for the Sony headphones, but the simple fact that I can't connect and easily switch between multiple devices made me returned them. The surface headphones are relatively light, sound great and perform very well. I'm very happy with this purchase. I use them every day at the office and I can't wait to try them on the plane.

Turn It Up

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Even though these are sold out in most places, I believe a lot of this feedback applies to the second generation and is even improved upon from what I hear. The dials are the best feature on these headphones, hands-down. It's a simple and elegant way to control the sound and noise-cancelling. Surface hardware generally has stellar design and this is no exception. In the WFH age the physical mute button is a welcome addition as well. Battery life isn't up there with Sony and Bose but hasn't bothered me in the slightest: I use these for 8+ hours a day, and I only have to charge them once every few days. I've thoroughly enjoyed using these headphones and anticipate that I will continue to enjoy them for many years.

Best noise cancellation ever
|Posted .I bought this product to compare it with other noise cancellation headphones that I own. I was thinking I will return it quickly as the Bose and Sony have better quality. To my surprise, I ordered the second one. This one has the best noise cancellation and it pairs with my iPhone and Android phone at the same time and flawlessly.

Excellent headphones from Microsoft
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGot these at Best Buy to replace my reliable Bose QC25 headphones I've used for years. These headphones are AMAZING at what they are capable of. The dial-a-yield noise cancellation/enhancement is pretty well-implemented. Sound quality overall is very well done, both wired and wireless. One thing that is not mentioned is that if you do not have Cortana installed on your Android or iOS device, it will default to using the built-in assistants (Google Assistant or Siri). Highly recommend for people looking for a great pair of headphones for the holidays.

Best Bluetooth Headphones! (I've tried latest Bose
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendComfort - 10/10. These headphones are a lot more plush and comfortable than either Bose or Sony, especially around the edged of my ears and top of my head. This is the most important to me because I wear these on my work commute, at work, and at home. Headphones are only as good as how comfortable they are. Sony and Bose became uncomfortable after ~2 hours. Sound Quality - 8/10. They do not sound as good as the Sonys, especially highs, but they are more than enough for 99% of us and still sound great. Noise Cancellation - 7/10. I was concerned with the quality of the noise cancelling of these headphones at first, because they are not as good as the Sonys (10/10 here), but roughly equivalent to the Bose and still perform great. Usability - 10/10. The rotating physical dials+gesture pad are the greatest idea ever! They are more useful than I expected. Side note, the Sony's gesture pad would constantly be triggered in the cold Chicago climate (30 degrees and below) Style - 9/10. I love the color and material choice. Battery Life - 7/10. I hear a lot of reviews saying the battery life is very poor, but the 15 hours has been pretty accurate, and the headphones read out the remaining battery life every time you power them on. Overall, these headphones are the most comfortable at the $350 price point, and that is the most important factor to me. The rotary dials are super helpful, and noise cancellation is great. Sound quality is also great, and I much prefer these over any of the competition after personally testing the Bose and Sony's.

Better than Sony, better than Bose
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAt the top of my priority list is a quality product that provides premium noise cancellation and comfort. This product delivers in spades. These are easily the most comfortable over-the-ear headphones on the market. They're the perfect weight and the soft leather wrapped memory-foam ear cushions are the best on the market. I can wear these all day without 1) getting a headache, 2) my ears sweating, or 3) remembering they're even on my head. I own the Bose QC35's as well as the Sony WH1000M2's. They're the same price as the Surface headphones and I find them lacking. First, the Bose provide excellent noice cancellation but little else. They lack in comfort, style and features. The Sony's are great headsets, but oddly, they don't fit on my head well, they give me a headache after extended use, and the noise cancellation gives an annoying hissing noise that irritates after a few hours. Additionally, your ears will sweat profusely. Annoyingly, they also auto-shut off after 10 minutes if you just want to use them as stand-alone noise canceling headphones without a bluetooth connection. These Microsoft headphones have simple tactile controls for dialing up sound, dialing down outside noise, or amplifying ambient noise. Simple and intuitive. The feature to pause your audio when you set them down is brilliant and flawless. The tap to pause feature works well; call-clarity is adequate considering there's no boom. The quality is exactly what you would expect from a Microsoft Surface product. I'll be honest; I bought these on name alone. I own both Surface book 2 sizes, three surface pro tablets, and buying my wife the new Surface Go tablet. The quality of this line is impeccable and these headphones definitely do NOT disappoint. For the first time in my life, I find myself wearing my headphones all day while I travel or work in my workshop. The only downside is the the battery life is not as long as its competitors; which i don't really care about. 15 hours is plenty and the USB-C connector charges them 3x faster than the usb micro does. So again, advantage Microsoft. Now, MICROSOFT, get on the ball and get us that Surface Phone. It will revolutionize a tired phone industry hungering for something innovative and new. Tiles are superior to icons and I miss my old Windows phone. Make it compatible with android apps (or universal app standard) and you'll have yourself another absolute winner.

Good multipurpose headphones

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The look and feel of these headphones are great and the build quality seems much better than some previous brands I've had. Good microphone for calls and nice clear sound. Not the greatest noise cancelling but pretty close. Comfortable for wearing extended periods of time and the dials and buttons for control are the best I've used.

Solid, good looking headset

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5These are great headphone, but pricey. I really like how they look and feel, the physical controls are great to use, the feel really high quality. I wish the touch pads were a bit more sensitive though, they sometime don't register my touches. The noise canceling and sound quality is good, but there are better out there for a similar price.

Q: QuestionCan I pair Surface Headphones with my Mac and still access Cortana?
Asked by SurfaceCustomerCare.
- A:Answer No it does not. I just opened the pair of bluetooth microsoft surface cortana white headphones to decide if they'll replace my Bose bluetooth headphones but the cortana does NOT sync with the macbook (laptop). All the threads I read says it will sync with the iphone but never said the laptop. They are amazing quality... you'll definitely do deaf if you blast it too loud.. noise cancelling is great but I need it for my macbook (laptop) as well as android phone so is only good while Im commuting so not sure if I will use much. Great headphones if you have a PC.

Q: QuestionNow that Microsoft has officially killed off Cortana, what is the point of these headphones? Getting tired of buying into the Microsoft ecosphere and then watching them kill their own products off rather than support and improve them....
Asked by NJB3.
- A:Answer You can pair these headphones with other assistants as well. Also I don't really use the Cortana feature anyway. So if you like a unique pair of headphones or want to complete the Surface lineup, they still have a point.
