Have Run...Will Travel!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a number of missions to complete and the game will not allow you to free roam too much while on a mission but you can explore the vast and beautiful city of Glass between missions to acquire more hidden items and complete tasks for those of need for a runner. The controls are very similar to "Dying Light" and do take a bit of practice but become second nature when running, jumping, wall-running, using a zip line, sliding, etc. The fighting is limited to 2 variations of punches and kicks in combination with the wall jumping and running to enhance their effectiveness. The fighting component is the weakest part of the game but isn't too bad since running away is better than tangling with armed adversaries unless required to complete the mission. The combat, movements and gear can be upgraded as you progress throughout the game and are purchased after getting points for completing missions and locating hidden items. This game is an acquired taste but can be very addictive once you catch on to the controls and premise of the game. You can also compete with other runners online in different time trials. The city is huge and fairly active with planes, monorail trains and vehicles in the streets below. There are not that many citizens in the city which was intended so as not to get in the way of your running. The security force that is pursuing you is very aggressive and they are armed. This is one of the few games that does not have the player using weapons. The language in the game is mild compared to many games today. I summary, I find myself playing this game for a couple of hours at a time just to explore the city and take in the sights. Hopefully, there will be a sequel to this sleeper hit. Have Fun!

Great potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game looks great and has a style of gameplay that is worthy of better game design. I played through the entire campaign and had several breath-taking moments but also found myself frustrated by the hand-holding of the default runner-vision (I recommend turning this off) and the poor handling of wayfinding that had once made the first game so strong. The combat had no appeal or hook to me and felt as if I was breaking the game to win the fights. If you loved the first one I recommend playing through this one if you can get a good price for nostalgia-sake but be prepared to have issue with the direction EA went on this one. Still looks beautiful though and provides a unique futuristic parkour first person experience that cannot be found anywhere else!

Okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A bit difficult to execute moves, don't know if it's the game or if I'm just terrible at game parkour. I fell in love with the white world of the original which is why I decided to buy this game so the new color scheme was a let down. Not an improvement to the original in my opinion. Still a good game if ur not constantly comparing it to the original awesomeness. Which is sadly impossible for me.

Fun but not perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game's story and characters are a bit forgettable and not all that compelling. The joy in this game is in its parkour elements, however, and as a beginning to a "reboot" of sorts, it creates a good foundation, gameplay wise, on which to build a possible sequel. Hopefully it will have enough success so as to justify sequels for a game that brings different gameplay to the table.

A great visual game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played this game for a few hours and believe it has a great concept. I never played the first installment to the franchise but I love the visualization and graphics EA always brings to the table. The control system and realization make it a game I would continue to play. There is a ton of stuff to do in the game with its open-world concept.

Nice Way to Kill Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mirrors Edge is a unique first person runner adventure ! Story line is not too far fetched and intrigues you to learn more about what will happen. Gameplay is very accurate to controls especially when your on the ledge jumping and swinging onto objects. Looks amazing on my 55 inch LG TV I can only imagine how it looks on a 4k screen.

A Game That Deserves More Attention
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mirror's Edge Catalyst does not seem to be getting the attention it deserves. I thought it was a really well-done game that took the ideas of the original and improved upon them. The story is just so-so, but the core gameplay mechanics are solid, and there's plenty in the game to keep you busy. I had a lot of fun playing through this game.

Not bad/Not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have put in around 6 hours into Mirror's Edge Catalyst so far and am enjoying it to a point. Combat can be very frustrating at times when you are required to engage to clear an area. I still don't feel the connection to the characters but Faith has grown on me. The city, while it is a bit straight lined, is very pretty. The team did a great job giving that feeling of height and being alone at the top of a city. I hate heights and one part so far required the climbing of the tallest building in the city which made my hands sweat and I had to walk away for a min. Hard to explain but they made it feel real. There is a lot to do in the city and even when you fail a run it doesn't take long for it to reload and try again. Yes, the controls are still frustrating at times but fairly easy. Will hopefully be finishing it soon.
