    Upgrade+ is an affordable way to get select products today, pay for it over time, and upgrade to a new model after 36 months.

    How does it work?

    36 small blue squares indicating 36 months are arranged side by side to represent the majority of the original purchase price. An adjacent yellow rectangle indicates the remaining final payment.

    Blue square Monthly payments:
    A majority of the original price of the device is broken into 36 smaller payments, paid monthly. $0 is due today.

    Yellow square Final payment:
    The final payment is reserved for an upgrade decision in month 37.

    Upgrade+ options.

    • Option 1: Upgrade it.
      You can turn in your qualifying"See disclosure" device at any Best Buy store location and upgrade to a newer version. In this scenario, Best Buy will make the final payment to Citizens Pay® in month 37.

    • Option 2: Keep it.
      You can decide to keep your device and not upgrade to a newer version. In this scenario, you are responsible for making the final payment to Citizens Pay in month 37.

    • Option 3: Turn it in.
      You can turn in your qualifying"See disclosure" device at any Best Buy store location and decide not to upgrade to a newer version. In this scenario, Best Buy will make the final payment to Citizens Pay in month 37.

    Protection plans and other add-ons.

    Before you start the application process, you’ll be given the opportunity to attach a protection plan and select accessories to your order. Eligible accessories will be shown during the purchase process. 100% of the price of those items can also be paid for over the 36 monthly payments, subject to the same promotional APR rate that you qualify for. Those items will not factor into the final payment.

    Application and purchase process.

    Financing is available through Citizens Pay for purchases starting from $550. An application is required to determine eligibility and promotional finance rates. It is an instant application with results back in minutes.

    2. You will then need to complete an eligibility check with Citizens Pay.

    At Best Buy, new-in-box MacBook models, new-in-box iPad Pro (M2) models with Wi-Fi, new-in-box Apple Watch Ultra 2 (GPS + Cellular) 49mm, new-in-box 24" iMac models, new-in-box Mac Studio (M2) models, and new-in-box Mac mini (M2) models can be purchased through the Upgrade+ program. iPad Pro models with Wi-Fi + Cellular, clearance items and open-box products are excluded.
    Yes, you can. However, AppleCare+ must be added at time of eligible device purchase to qualify for Upgrade+ financing. If you decide to add AppleCare+ after the purchase, it will be a separate transaction.
    Yes, you can add 36-month AppleCare+ protection to your purchase, as well as select accessories that are relevant for use with a Mac or iPad, including cables and connectors, sleeves and bags, Microsoft 365, mice and keyboards, monitors, Beats headphones and AirPods (excluding refurbished items). Eligible accessories will be shown during the purchase process.

    These additional items can be included in the 36-month financing plan, will be paid in full over the monthly payments, and will not be part of a final payment. You will not have the option to upgrade the accessories at the end of the 36-month term, only the qualified product. Returns and refunds are subject to standard AppleCare+ and Best Buy policies, terms, and conditions for those services and products.
    Yes, if the store has the model in stock. While purchases made in a store at the register are not eligible for Upgrade+, you can order the qualified product online and select Store Pickup. If you are in the store at the time and sharing your location on the device you use to place the order, it will be marked for immediate action.

    Upgrade+ is an exclusive, standalone offer and cannot be combined with other savings offers, such as temporary price reductions, trade-ins or bundle offers.     Yes. Citizens Pay will complete an eligibility check, and then you will be able to see if you are prequalified for a Citizens Pay Line of Credit (including the amount you are prequalified for) and what the monthly payment would be for that specific device.
    No, you must wait until the end of the 36-month term to be eligible to upgrade. You can opt to pay off the balance of the 36-month portion ahead of schedule (either by making larger monthly payments or more frequent payments), but you will not be eligible to upgrade to a new device until the end of the 36-month term. You will not be eligible for device upgrade or return under the Upgrade+ program if any portion of the final payment has been made prior to month 37. In that scenario, Best Buy’s standard trade-in process outside of the Upgrade+ program would still be available to you.
    Yes, you can make multiple purchases. However, only one qualified product can be purchased per transaction. The total of all transactions must be less than the approved Citizens Pay line of credit.
    No, you will not be able to add more items to your Citizens Pay Line of Credit after the initial transaction has been completed.

    Yes, you can cancel AppleCare+ within Best Buy’s standard return and exchange period and your Citizens Pay account will be credited accordingly.     Yes, My Best Buy Plus™ and My Best Buy Total™ members receive 60 days for return. Best Buy’s extended holiday return policy will apply to Upgrade+ orders as well.     No, not directly. In the event you receive a defective or damaged unit, you must first complete a return. After the return is completed, you will need to go through the Upgrade+ purchase process again.
