Synopsis

Monster House
A suburban home has become physically animated by a vengeful human soul looking to stir up trouble from beyond the grave, and it's up to three adventurous kids from the neighborhood to do battle with the structural golem in this comically frightful tale, directed by Gil Kenan and featuring the voices of Steve Buscemi, Nick Cannon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Kevin James. DJ Harvard (voice of Mitchel Musso) lives directly across the street from a most unusual house. A malevolent entity that longs to feed on the energy of the living, the once peaceful house that looms ominously outside of DJ's bedroom window would like nothing more than the chance to feast on the children of the neighborhood. As Halloween begins to draw near and the children of the neighborhood prepare for another long night of trick-or-treating, it appears as if it may be the house that is in for the biggest treat of all. Now, with the adults turning a deaf ear to DJ's strange findings, it's up to the brave young boy and his faithful friends Chowder (voice of Sam Lerner) and Jenny (Spencer Locke) to break through the barrier of the supernatural and defeat the powers of darkness before the house grows too powerful to fight. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

    WOW!! Great 3D Experience!!

Monster House delivers a consistently gorgeous 3D transfer that dazzles even through the film's many dark scenes. The film's 3D elements impress at every turn; there's a marvelous sense of depth accompanying every minute of the film; there's always at least some background elements or spacing between characters and their environments that give the audience an honest 3D sensation. Best of all, however, is the sheer seamlessness of the presentation. There is not much "jumping out at you" images like in Monsters vs. Aliens. I did not experience or notice any "ghosting" on my Samsung LCD TV (LN46C750) and Samsung Blu-ray player(BD-C6900). The sound was great at every turn; coming out of my Onkyo HT-S3300 Home Theater System. Special Features include: * 3D preview of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Open Season * Filmmaker's Commentary * Tons of thrilling Featurettes to check out! * The Art of Monster House - photo gallery Overall a great addition to the limited number of 3D Blu-ray Movies.

Good Family Movie but Bad in 3D

I have study a lot of information on 3D. Monster House is a good movie to just watch in 2D but not worth the 3D experience. You want to get movies that are shot/ made for 3D. This movie is just Digital 3D with a layover. Meaning that scenes will not pop out as much as a real 3D movie. Most of this movie did not have any objects looking as if they were coming out the screen. You can just about watch the whole movie with the glasses off. If you can watch a movie with the glasses off and do not see the blur effect then that means bad 3D. I give the 3D for this movie two stars because I have seen worst. Again good family movie but not good in 3D.

I bought this film for my grandson based on newspaper reviews (yes, I still read the printed page) and got hooked on it as well. The characters are very lifelike and the story line is quite original. Even my husband came in and sat down to watch it with us. I liked it because it covered topics such as friendship, bravery and the will to do the right thing. My husband liked it because it was funny and my grandson because it was scary. Its not just for Halloween but enjoyable anytime.

My 3yr old son and I love this movie. I grew up loving and horror movies (the classics), and my son likes scary things also. I think this is perfect for a child age 2-7. It has great animation, and is silly to keep their attention. The are parts that are scary. But not to the point that they would have nightmares. My son always tries to scare me at the "scary" parts. I would suggest it to everyone. It is one of my favorite kids movies out.

My wife and I saw this in the theater in 3D, so when we purchased our (new) 3D tv two weeks ago, I was eager to take advantage of the full experience. There aren't many titles out in 3D yet, but this one delivered just as well as it did in the theater. IF you enjoyed it in the theater, you will enjoy it in 3D at home.

My 2yr old son loves this movie. He watches it atleast once a day. Its the only movie that he will sit through calmly and quietly. It doesnt scare him at all. He already know the lines to the movie, its so cute. The animation is great. I sometimes get hooked on it.

My 6 year old girl loved it, not too scary. I wasn't that impressed with the 3D effects, but decent plot etc. The ending was a bit scary for her, but the very end of the movie tied it together and made her not scared. It was worth the money.

Very good sound and 3D images. This is one of the best 3D films to use with your 3D TV or projector. I watched this movie on a 150 inch projector screen. What an awesome 3D movie to watch with great sound as well.
